Only visited Thorne for the first time about 18 months ago and found it to be not a bad place. However why is that in some of the side streets there are gangs of youngsters with nothing to do except make a nuisance of themselves? Hi, I guess its still pretty quiet in moorends, noone uses this board still! I was a native of moorends once, and have noticed that it is becoming very nice place with all the posh new houses on the front. It would be good to see it get better place to live. Cya folks!

Researching family tree. Could anyone help to locate the above. Last heard of living as lock-keeper on Thorne canal at Two Bridges Road in late 70s early 80s. He and Ivy had large family. Any help appreciated. Thankyou. |

You may have heard of xmas street in thurnscoe, at xmas we had a terrible fire on our street and sadly lost two children. We have now heard of quite a few fires in local areas and we have found that there is no help fire victims. Does'nt anybody in Thorne pay their electric bill, because as we passed by on the dirt track entering Thorne one night, we noticed all the lights were out, and the gate across the track, which was closed, with a little sign on it, saying, We are Hoping To Be Open In The Morning, and if we are please pass through quietly, as most of the Natives of Thorne don't Arise Till the pubs open. ... more >> |

If Thorne has got a notice board why hasn't anyone used it? Is it that bad there? Frank Douglas used to say that it was wonderful!! Still, there's no accounting for taste is there? By the way, is Frank still alive? Haven't heard from him in a while.
