What is that? by Dan (Member 10130992) on 26-Aug-2004
Every morning on my way to Clacton I go through Thorpe-Le-Soken station. Just before the station there is a bizarre structure in a field on the right hand side. It appears to be a hut or building with a circular 'mesh' above it. Above that is a smaller circle of things that look like they could be lights?? and in the centre what appears to be a radio antenna.

Every morning I wonder what it is. ... more >>

kelseys by andyjay (Member 10097231) on 23-May-2003
Do any people here with a knowledge of local history know if there was a family here back in about the 15-1600s called the Kelseys? The Kelseys, from what I have heard, are an old Pilgrim family who settled in New England back during the American colonial era. I might be distantly related to them by marriage.

My grandfather Sydney (now deceased)went there with his brothers and sisters when they were children. They were (in order of age)Donald, Sydney, Renie and Ronny. His mother and fat... more >>

I am looking for my stepbrother who would be 56-57 yrs old now. During WWll, 1943-44, my father
Robert "Gordon" Cole was stationed at Aldershot. He was a gunnar instructor in the Canadain Armored Corps. While there he would go into London on leaves and there met a love. Her name possibly Emma, not quite sure on that. We can only hope that son was told of father and given him his name to know. My ... more >>
