The Best Things
- The collection of horses are second to none on "the Cracker". Rumour has it that both Mark Johnston and Richard Fahey yard steal horses from the cracker and turn them into smart racehorses.
According to numerous unconfirmed sources, 2000 Guineas, Derby, Eclipse, Prix L'arc de Triomphe winner 'Sea The Stars' was foaled on the Cracker here in Tipton.
There was once a reported sighting of Paul Hanagan galloping out of Salter Road and onto the football pitches of the cracker, but this has since been doubted.
- "The Cracker"- fuck having a day at the races, "The Cracker" is like Royal Ascot when the sun is shining. A superb collection of horses, all owned by the local pikeys, and always prone to charging the odd person here or there.
I remember when I was at Primary School (Locarno Primary), I was playing football with friends at dinnertime when suddenly a horse cantered onto the playground. I'll never forget the sheer look of panic on the face of the chief dinner lady. Superb.
- If you have animals the vets in Princes End (P A Stuarts) have been brilliant every time ive had to go whether its for somthing small to somthing serious.
The new Summer Hill school that has been built on the old Fitzwarren site is amazing and a credit to the area.
- Tiptonians are famous for their unique sense of humour.
- NOTHING!The whole place is a dump.
- When my son went missing the whole of my community went and searched for him and thankfully he was found safe and well. When things get tuff and something goes wrong we all help each other, even though we don't interact on a personal basis.
- Tipton people are as honest as anywhere else in England. If you're a idiot, they'll tell you so, to your face, and it has some of the cheapest housing in UK, which is great to help you get on the housing market.
- tipton the best place to be
- Honesty. Tipton people are very honest, unlike many other people from the UK. They will tell you straight whether they agree or not, which can come as a shock if you're not used to hearing opinions in this way. They will also stand their ground and fight your corner if they think something's wrong, regardless of who it is that's having a go at you.
- Tipton s very much what you make it. I'm 45, lived here all my life. I'm not thick, or stupid, or violent. i dont 'tat', I dont have a horse. I wonder where the abusive person lives ? I bet his area is no eden. What did we do to offend you ?
- The hard-working police who serve the people of Tipton. They get the blame for all the bad management and impossible deadlines they must operate under and have to bare the brunt of Tipton's low-life.
It's the government-sponsored mamangement that sucks, not the police themselves.
The sky - it is greater than the grasp of the stupid locals and reminds you that there are other parts of the world better than this hovel.
- the people when they want to be an if youre on the right side of them which can b very difficult. theres plenty of things close like the black country musuem tipton baths which hav a big shoot, an merry hill the massive shoppin complex is half hour away on the bus which is great. U know the chavs n kevs the girls with the long or curly hair an big earings n clowns n brown or black rockport an tight trousers with sports jackets an moshino trousers u get my drift? and the kevs with the caps on top of there heard an moshino trousers and sports jackets an full soverign rings n mega thick gold chains an rockport razzin round in the novas playin speed garage n mash it up the birmingham crew flipin baaaaaaaad
- Honesty and in most cases good nature. You always know where you stand with the people who've lived here all their lives.
- Tipton isn't that bad as people make out. Atleast with Tipton folk you know where you stand and get a straight answer. I get people saying hello to me in Tipton more than Wolverhampton - people are generally friendlier. Victoria Park is the closest you'll get to Paradise in Tipton. It can be really peaceful at times. The best pubs and chip shops around! The canal provides lots of nice walks in the summer.
- Seeing Tipton from a plane - as one flies to somewhere cleaner, less voilent, cheaper and less depressing. Oh, and then there's normal people to look forward to..
- It's got a chunk of decent cheap houses, right up
from Park Lane East to Owen St, clustered around
the smart Victoria Park (local boarders sometimes to be seen here);
thought it gets hairy when you cross the level-crossing into the tough 1950s housing-estate
(very tribal - they still pasture their ponies on the playing fields
and in Summer will often race them round the roads in pony-traps)
- The skatespots
