Favourite Building
- Bugle Hotel
- The place is full of old buildings 14th century onwards but the church has to be the best parts of which are saxon.
- The church off to the South, lovely graveyard
- Titchfield Abbey.
The beautiful ruins of Place House, the stately home of The Earls of Southampton.
Converted from an ancient Abbey at the time of the Dissolution, this
great house proceeded to be the dominant structure and centre of power in the
region until the fall of the Earl's bloodline some centuries ago.
It is known that the English civil war ended here with the tragic capture of
his majesty King Charles the First.
Place House is also known to have been a favourite location of Shakespeare,
whose plays "Romeo and Juliet" and "Twelfth Night" were first performed here.
