Titchfield Mill - Recently converted flour mill on the bank of the River Meon. Limited beer selection - Bass and lagers - but very good range of wines. Food is typical of new cuisine pub/bars, but provides good value. Large car park and garden by river. On main road and popular with travellers and 'townies'.
Fishermans Rest - Pub with good reputation for the food. Set by the river with large garden. Also opposite Titchfield Abbey. Was used as lodging house for railway workers building the line through the Meon Valley in Victorian days. No games machines, background music, daily papers for punters to read, popular and excellent venue - ideal location when Blues at The Abbey is playing (June/July Annually). Car park OK but difficult to pull out into busy road especially in the evening.
- The Wheatsheaf is the most civilised pub in the village and it serves a range of real ale and good food. There are three others all of which are ok.
- The finest pub in the area is The Fisherman's Rest.
This old house, traditionally a tannery, has been serving ale since the
1880s, and contains architecture from the 1600s.
With an inspiring selection of drinks on offer, from ales such as Old Speckled Hen,
to spirits, mead, and delicious country wines, and a mouth-watering array of foodstuffs,
you'll find it's a tavern with a lot of character!
Roaring fires keep it hot in winter, and a pleasant garden next to the softly
meandering Meon is cool in summer, always under the watchful gaze of the ruined
Abbey of Titchfield.
- Four Pubs on West Street, Coach and Horses, Bugle, Queen's Head, and the Wheatsheaf (the cosiest, especially in winter)
