- Central torquay...but avoid screen four, really tiny. good atmosphere, great projection, Dolby EX sound...
- Got to be Apollo really but thats only if you want to see all the usual dross, want anything more independant then if you are lucky get out to dartington colleg but failing that Plympout or Exeter.Appollo do very occasionaly step outside the profit zone.VERY OCCASIONALLY!
- torre records - nice specialist shop.
- Yeh, Central cinema is good
- That 'weird gay bloke' is straight, has a wife and kid, and no longer works at central cinema.....plus i love it their and always will......so whatever is written i stick by my opinion **central cinema rules**
- erm there's Central Cinima if you like flavour-less popcorn, extreme prices (I remember when it was £3 to go to the cinima!), sticky floors, wierd gay bloke that tells you not bring sweets in that weren't bought in the cinima...
- The cinema in torquay (called central cinema not odeon...as said above) is by far the best the staff are friendly and the screens warm and comfortable. Personally i would not go to the appollo if it were free....it is corporate and smells like an old peoples home + 4 real movie buffs, the projection there sucks.
- apollo cinema, paignton is so much better than the one in torquay (abbey road)
- A bit behind the times, I think Torquay needs a decent size cinema.A cinerma with less than 6 screens is soooooooo 80s
- awful, major corporate cinema showing all the latest mainstream favourites, they dont show micheal moore films or anything too controversial, the odean in torquay is good
- Apollo in Paignton
- Apollo Cinema in Paignton is very good, spent a lot of money on building it etc, i think it was worth it for people who regularly go cinema.
- only 1 in torquay called central
- local cinema, used to be an odeon, now central cinemas...pretty good, more leg room than it used to have and cheaper tickets. Not as busy, so generally quite pleasant.
if you want a slightly more special night out, I'd reccomend the apollo in paignton, not too far to go and you can have a nice drink before hand or a stroll on the pier after! the screens are bigger and it generally feels more classy but it'll cost you more!
- appollo paington
- The Central Cinema on Abbey Road, Torquay is good for its location but not one of these mega cinema complexes. Nice and basic. Chairs not that uncomfortable.
- Go to Exeter, no contest.
- the central (abbey road again)
- Odeon now has 4 smaller screens(?) and seems to have improved
- Torquay cinema is adequate for the locals as most can't be arsed to travel further than the end of the road and its close to all the pubs. It has 2 screens.
But there's a large multiplex in neighbouring town Paignton, for real buffs.
- Odeon is lovely, but your choice of films is a bit restricted (one summer all you could see for 3 months was Robin Hood. Say no more).
- Cinema on Abbey Road. Only three screens so the choice is limited. Paignton just down the road has a new nine screen multi-plex. Bowling and Quasar on Torwood Street. Plenty of cool places to hang out.
- Bowling and Quasar, come on!
- There's a Hollywood Bowl in town
