• Theres a really amazing dude who plays guitar down by the harbour or sometimes opposite Primark. I could listen to him all day.
• There was a man that is just like a statue.When you give him money he moves for about 20 seconds. I know that doesnt sound good, but trust me he is wicked.

• Plenty of characters, ie smackheads, cider bandits, White Lightning casualties and crack fiends that seem to come from every corner of the UK except Torquay. Can be recognised by their traditional call of "Change, mate?", to which the reply is, of course, "No, still got a house, still got a job..." The Big Issue seller who plies his trade outside Superdrug is excellent, really funny banter and a friendly chap. Stop for a chat and buy one, or just eavesdrop from across the street if your tight fisted...
• the boy with the violin saving for leeons and the man with the case who buys a train ticket to newton abbot then busks there then with the money he's made he buys another ticket to torquay and so on. also the man that wears white and stands still all day.
• The best one is the guy with Tin Whistle. He's been in the town centre for years and if you stop to listen to him he really can't play to save his life. He just play's random notes. Fantastic for a good laugh.
