• The Lounge / VIP - near the harbour; This was the only bar we found in the harbour area of Torquay which was not full of drunken yobs or vest wearing northern holiday makers with an attitude. The Lounge has Table service, stunning women and a relaxed & friendly atmosphere. A bit more expensive than neighbouring bars but it was worth it. Only downside is that they have one toilet for all!

• THe post Horn - a good locals pub, excellent beer, Live music thursdays ( open mic nite) , A good Crack.
• Spinning Wheel in Paignton seafront.
• the willows resturant /public house very near to sainsburys and marks and spencers on the willows retail park torquay , do an extremely cheap carvery between £2.99&£3.99 depending on when you go, we found it on holiday last year and we shall be visiting again when we go again later in the year highly recomended for family on a budget three cheers for the willows
• As teen Pubs were fun as a humphy something town center pubs are generally the same ol same ol. loads of tits and testosterone.Get ye to a local me beauty some might be a bit rough at the edges but hey lets face facts this is an area well below the national average wage with naff all prospects as yet for success in the 21st century so what do these folks have to cheer about? oh yeah i forgot it's such a beautifull place(hint:that was a sarcastic broadside at the people who cant see beneath the postard image of the riviera.
• The Spinning Wheel.
• koko lounge, bar med, barcode, town house
• Real ale, jazz, folk and rock at the Crown and Sceptre, You may meet Muse`s manager at weekends, + John the cheese on jazz nights.
• The Wetherspoons pubs(isaac merrit-paignton,london inn,torquay)both good, london inn is bigger. but a bit lazier on service perhaps, and food seems to be nicer at isaac merrit. The Townhouse, yes coz i put on gigs there but my point is it seems all tough and people are scared of it, but its not pricey, entertainment is good and varied,its working class. Dont go to crazy horse in paignton,ull walk out with a broken leg, or Royal Standard in hele,torquay(i always wondered who was the idiot when naming areas that Hele was given, when HELL was the obvious choice, mayb a mispelling.Yes dont go to royal standard, infact dont go Hele! or foxhole and QED in paignton.
• The Sloop, Kingskerswell. Good bunch behind the bar. Beer Cheapish. Food can be edible sometimes lol. Wide Screen telly and lots of little ones all on different channels!!! Good Music selected by the staff! Very busy tho at peak times.

• The Sloop Kingskerswell for food all day and eve and cheapish drink. The Ash Hill for its chewy calvery. Camelots for sheer size of grub.
• Sun nights, Farmhouse Tavern, Old Newton Road, KARAOKE.... 7.30 till 10.30 with me!!! Ian. UK Karaoke
• A few chain pubs - ie Yates, Bar Med, Hogs Head, London Inn (Wetherspoons) but otherwise independent. Beware of Mango Tangos as the floor is bumpy (supposed to be a wave). Cafe Mambos is quite good - even better if you can get a seat outside overlooking the harbour. Bit pricey for drinks though. There are loads of bars!!!!!
• Chelston Manor for the over 30 crowd
• The Jolly Judge in Torre is always worth a visit for the contrasting crowds of cynical and sour-faced workers from the Jobcentre, neatly contrated with the relieved and raucous minor villains from the magistrates court just across the road.
• IF YOU WANT TO MEET ALL THE LOCAL DOLE DOSSERS AND DOWN AND OUTS GO TO THE MANOR MARKET STREET OR THE POST HORN ON MADREPORE ROAD!!!!!!
• WOODYS and THE LONDON INN
• Fatcats on the corner by clairs (the shop not club)Its a nice little pub
• Hop and Grapes, Piazza, Wetherspoons
• Best places to check out (and avoid the teenybopper crowd) Mousetrap, - infamoue coolers. Many locals. No kids. Good atmosphere. All foxy chicks behind the bar. Up to the minute tunes with good party themes. Always friendly. Ejs, - What can I say the ultimate in party. Challenge the ski race or the Toffee Vodka. Fab music to get you up on the tables strutting your stuff or getting you naked. The locals favorite choice. Cider Press - Similar to above. One of Torquays original party venues. Applebys - Fab in the summer as theres loads of seating outside on patio. Host to the best sunday all day sessions. Jugs of vodka red bull. view of the bay, good friendly spot. Pick of the rest : Hop and grapes , R&B's, the Clocktower, Vaughans.
• Couldn't find a decent pub if you tried. Hard. Railway used to be ok, and the Parrot, but both have become dodgy towny places. Despair!
• Torquay, like many South West towns, has only just got the whole chain pub thing. There's a Hog's Head where Union Street joins Fleet Street. Massive Weatherspoons on the Strand. With other pubs there are too many to mention, really.

• EJ's in Abbey Road has one of the best atmospheres of any pub, where else would you be encouraged to dance on the seats and grafitti on toilet walls? Completely unpretentious, completely mad, some odd drinks you won't find anywhere else and staff who join in the fun.
