  • Best View: From the top of the Green Splat, across the road from the football club. Ahh the memories...
  • somebody said that The people who like Newquay tend to live on surfboards, "hang out", and drink cheap lager (or even expensive lager).well you're wrong they drink cheap vodka instead
  • Too many people with limited horizons. There is life outside Cornwall - GO AND SEE IF YOU DON'T BELIVE ME! And while you're out there, see if you can find a sense of humour and/or personality, 'coz there ain't any in here!
  • Government stealth warning: Cornwall does not agree with change. Do not suggest things such as cinemas, a night life, shops that sell things other than buckets and spades, etc., to a Cornish person. Reason being is the shock of hearing such madness may lead the average Cornish person to fall dramatically to the ground and curl up and die. Several people have been arrested for this form of crime. However, those who have been prosecuted for their courage are brilliant people and in my book and should all be knighted by the Queen. If you believe you can get away with this crime then please try it. It is incrediably fun with a strong sense of danger attached to it. (I have several scars from suggesting change to Cornish people)
  • Truro has about 2 good shops and everyone ends up wearing the same stuff because we all shop at the same place because thats the only places there are!

  • Truro is a nice City to visit with good shops and sevral nice places to eat. I particularly like the tapas bar. A good day out from / to Truro is round trip via St. Mawes (by bus) to falmouth (by foot ferry) back to truro (by train). I have had many happy holidays around Truro - Feock, Falmouth to name but 2. Cornwall as a whole has a lot to offer. Out of season is best - less crowded - I would avoid Newquay at all costs unless you are a surf bumb or looking for slappers
  • it's better than Newquay!
  • The dilapidated swimming pool has been demolished and replaced by a nwe one at the Truro College site three miles out of town.
  • Somebody said "Truro is crap, go to Newquay". I have to disagree so strongly, all I can say is that the strength with which I must disagree is very strong indeed. It is a lovely small town, delightful to walk around. It has a wonderful location, beautiful architecture, friendly people, great beer and pasties and good shops. Newquay is nothing more that a neon infested dump. The people who like Newquay tend to live on surfboards, "hang out", and drink cheap lager (or even expensive lager). In case you're wondering, I'm not even 30, appreciate culture, and spent a good proportion of my life in London (so I do know what a "happening" place looks like).
  • Actually, it's not the smallest city in the UK, St David's is!
  • The smallest city in UK: you can walk around it in 40 minutes.
  • Car parking is difficult if not imposible, get in early if you want a parking space (about five in the morning), car parking spaces start at one hundred pounds and go to the highest bidder.
