The place to go for a lazy afternoon, pub quiz or last call
You can tell us more about Ullesthorpe.
Pubs
- The Chequers is now under new ownerships and the food is great if you want a good reasonably priced night out and they do a good quiz with some decent prize money on a Monday night
- don't forget that the Crown has now been knocked down and the Chequers has lost its appeal. The only place left for good food and drink is The Swan which is fantastic friendly and good atmosphere
- See previous - re: Chequers....absolutely pants. Get up the Crown for a man's establishment... i just can't understand why more of the younger villagers won't go in... it's not that unfriendly, just misunderstood!!!!!
- Swan, Chequers Inne or the Crown... not really much choice, but the Swans too exclusive for most of the locals and isn't really for drinkers, the Chequers is ok, but who wants to pay two and a half quid for a lager.... This pricing policy does have its merits.. it stops all the w***ers going in. The Crown (or Star Wars as its officially known in Lutterworth) is a different kettle of fish altogether. It seems perfectly normal for people to strip off and parade round all night woth no clothes on. The local football club, The Robins, went there to celebrate their Cup Final defeat (???), and by 9 o'clock, most of the pub were naked, lighting farts on the bar, Giddy was blowing off twisted dave etc, etc, etc. This is considered a perfectly normal part of village life in Ullesthorpe... depending on which side of the bridge you were raised.
- The Chequers, once agin, deserves a mention due to its occaisonal amazingly INNOCENT ppeople who drink there.
The swan is a good place for parents and old paople, but im not a drinker so mine is an outsiders veiw.
The Crown is the middle aged hangout there. All the adults join in rowdy behavouir and some indulge in underage delites.
