- You say the Black Horse is a bit of a dive, hence the nick name of the Black Hole, well I am the new owner of the Black Horse and have spent a fortune cleaning it and making it a nicer environment. I have got better looking bar staff and the pub is undergoing a £250,000 (1/4 million) refurbishment in January. So i do think your review is somewhat incorrect !
- the ship you dont have to be fresh faced just brain dead or brave...the landlady is not for the faint hearted...
- The Old Bank ( Stanley's Vaults ) on Tobin St,
used to be good, now full of robbers and druggies!
The beer is watered down aswell.
- We ALL have a SuPeRb NiGhT In the Albian (New brighton)(Wallasey) first friday in every month, so far. This is a charity doo, where we put on three bands which so far have proven superb. Our third charity night is probably going to be the first Friday of December and the best so far, third time lucky and all that, so there's no excuses bring your end of the month wages and get down with us , and right back up again
THE NBR CREW
- Far from being called the Black Hole - the Black Horse pub in wallasey is know to it's crowd of loyal drinkers at the dirty donkey. It's got a vibrant atmosphere when one of the many local bands play.
- try the black horse if you feel like roughing it.dont forget to wipe your feet on the way out.owner paul still lives in the 70s
- The Nelson in the Village, the Welly for Metal night, The Lighthouse sucks, the Farmer's Arms in the Village is amazing craic, esp. on a Friday night. NEVER go in the Black Horse, Cheshire Cheese, Ship Hotel, Tavern or the Tower. The crowd in most pubs is fresh faced but the Farmers is special - you have to know someone's dad to drink in there. It's beautiful.
- Lighthouse in the summer! it may only have a car park but it's still cool
- THe DALE INN gutted that it closed down or was burned down- whatever! Happy memories. Also the joeys miss going to that place to see my dad
- The Nelly in the late early 80's... paradise found! (then soon lost)
- The Railway on Victoria road Newbrighton is the base of me Antony Tool its from here I command my soldiers and it is the hub of all my `activities` you canfind out more by going to http://antonytool.wtcsites.com/antonyspage_index.html . If you have anything to do with Newbrighton you`ll want see this site
- Don't go to the Wellington as stated in the write up. You are guaranteed a major kick off at the week ends complete with helmeted police etc.Ok in the daytime though for cheap food and pool.Barmaid has great tits.
Stanleys cask. Great beer , very mixed clientel, young and old. lots of great characters and a noticable lack of wankers. Telegraph in new Brighton. Stanleys in liscard. The magazine. Peggy gadflies on Victoria road.Nags head for footy.
- The black horse in the village is a bit of adive!!! hence its nickname of the black hole!!! and as for the 20 row dont even bother!!! Just walk past!
- The Vic, New Brighton is popular.... or the Towers, Liscard....... or Stanleys, Liscard.....:)
- the nellie in the 70's and the farmers in the 80's
- Farmer's Arms on Wallasey Village is a cracking local, as is the Magazines, both have good atmospheres and really good ale. Something for the weekend before you go to the clubs at New Brighton, it has to be The Boot or the Wellington in Liscard, the Nelson or The Lighthouse in Wallasey Village.
- THE WELLINGTON HOTEL IS BASED IN LISCARD, ON FRI-SAT IT HAS GOOD MUSIC AND FREINDLY STAFF
