I attended Wallasey Grammer School on Withens Lane from 1939-1944 and wondered if any one from those days was still alive. I think the school was moved out to Leasowe. I remember a master called Eggleshaw and he used to be sports and math, also looked after the firewatchers. Reply

I lived in Wallasey between 1957 and 1973 I went to wallasey tech ,Egremont Baptist and trained as a nurse at VCH which when i returned for a visit in 1990 was a firestation. I have done a lot of travelling and been married twice. I have had a very interesting life.Does any body want to hear about it? Reply

I went to withensfield from 1965 to 1969, the above teachers where my form teachers. It was in the reign of Harry Burgen and Headmaster Thorpe. My friends at school were, Mike Molden,Les Cotterall, Dave Bird, Phil Robertson, Barry Lavercombe ect. With the MTC we went to Ireland cycling from Dublin to Belfast. I went to this school from 1949 until 1953 I used to live in Rake Lane, Upper Brighton and went to New Brighton primary School in Vaughan Rd. I emigrated to New Zealand in 1955. My name was Jacquie Montgomery then. I can't find the school on the www Does anyone know if they changed the name? Hello. Can anyone remember a landmine being found at Harrison drive. My friend Barbara and I found the landmine at Harrison Drive in the 60's. The whole beach was evacuated. I used to have the newspaper cutting but have lost it. I have been to the library but cannot remember the date we found it.
