Midlands Free Give Group connects people who are giving and getting unwanted items for free in their own towns. It's completely free to join and everything posted must be free. This is a great id ea! Hi. Would be nice to chat to old school friends who went to The Deanery in the very early 80's (around the time the school first opened). I was there from 1981 - 1983. The teachers would have been (the late) Mrs. Hellmuth, Miss Askew (the teacher with the fierce shout!!! Also the one that smoked funny brown fags .....), Mrs Hurley (who later I understand went on to haunt the poor kids at Willmo tt!!, Mr Wild, Mr Hawker, etc etc. Does anyone remember the trip to Barnes Close, where we were supposed to be studying religion and ended up counting cars on the motorway!!? I think I was in your class, we had Miss Askew as our 4th class teacher...she had a very scary shout! I remember the trip to Barnes Close...collecting pond life which then escaped! A group of us also went to France that year..but I don't think you came over with us. I still live in Australia & haven't been back to the UK since but still really miss everything. Then a couple of months later moved to Australia, just before we finished at the Deanery. My surname at the time was Ward. I remember you..you used to hang out with Catherine was it? I used to hang around Tory Plunkett, Sharon Killeen, Pam Badham etc.I refently visited the schoolfriends reunited site & found a whole list of our school fri ends!! (including yourself) it was such a spin out to see so many names listed & really took me back! I would love to know what happened to Miss Askew aswel..you are right..she was one of the best teachers I have ever had...I would like to tell her that!
