  • You can see bands in The Pink Trout, a new "alternative " bar. Next to the Brown Butt.
  • the Littleton has now been shut down by our council to run a bypass through it, shame coz it was a great venue run by great people, lots of live bands of all types played there.
  • Birmingham Academy and Wolves Civic are my favourites. But there's usually some local gigs going on in Walsall itself.
  • Littleton Arms do jam nights on every 1st wednesday of each month!!!
  • The Astor Room at the Royal Hotel where Pete Miles hosts Realgigs once a month to give up and coming school age rock bands the chance to perform.Good atmosphere and new emerging talent.Worth a visit-4 bands for a fiver!!!
  • Watch out for the following bands and artistes @ Chicago Rock Cafe Walsall: Wednesday 26th January - Dire Straits Tribute 'Money For Nothing' Wednesday 2nd February - Anastasia Tribute Wednesday 9th February - The Jam Tribute 'The Jamm' Wednesday 16th February - U.S. Halfpipes, playing West Coast Pumk abd Skate Rock covering hits from Alien ant Farm, Wheatus, Blink 182, Offspring,Greenday and many more. Wednesday 23rd February - The Pretenders Tribute 'Pretend Pretenders' Keep Rocking
  • Er... 'scuse me if I'm boring all you with a mental age of nearly 10 and who are drunk enough to think that R 'n B, hiphop and garage qualify as music... but is there ANYWHERE in Walsall that caters for LIVE music that doesn't involve electricity? You know, like people do outside the area sometimes. I'm not that fussy about what type of music - I mean there must be somewhere that has folk, jazz, classical, country, trad., opera, ballet(?), baroque, piano, .... brass band even... isn't there?
  • May 2004 - Wheatsheaf (behind Blue Coat School) - Massive Rock disco every Friday night, live rock/indie bands many Saturdays. The landlord is a loud-shirt wearing loony who loves his smoke machines and disco lights, and his staff are fun too. Cheap booze offers on many nights: Mine's a pint of Stella!
  • Three men in the boat
  • The courthouse will hire their upstairs venue for free. You take the door they take the bar.(see jason) Organise your own gig. Check out the vaults up by the market
  • the wharf
  • ws1!!!!
  • There's only the wharf now, dead small and intimate so you feel like you're seeing something special. Chicago's used to have sad eightie's bands on but there haven't been any since Bad Manners
  • The Orangery is nice for the Music Venues, innit?
  • The Rising Sun allows some bands on but it gets too rammed. Have they ever heard of fire regulations? I always get short changed as well. I have observed a lot of other people holding their change out to get back that £1 after being shortchanged
  • no where, birmingham deals with good stuff, walsall deals with the scum
  • Walsall needs some seriour music venue for bands and HIPHOP but the warf bar by the art gallerys the most chilled out.
  • THEY ALL SUCK BIG STYLE. GO TO WOLVES OR BRUM. OR HOME.(BEST BET)
  • none exist they shud bring back the dance tent by the wharf
  • None except the Vaults which is shit anyway
  • The Rising Sun now hosts a jam night on Thursday evenings between 8.30 and 11.30. Everyone can either join in or just listen.
  • Passion and Pain - Still going after a thousand years. Still the same man with the same record collection but we love it just the same.
  • we need some more, the best place locally is in wolverhampton! and walsall has some wicked young musicians.shame they have nowhere to show off their talent, and the college does that popular music course thing, some of the people on that are ace!!
  • pleckfest but if lucys drowing are there then i reccomend you leave lucys drowning sucks ass especially rich, there remarkably untalented drummer BRiSQ rule!!!
  • Harley, Sports Bar, Baileys, Varsity, Old Court House, Millagans, Rising Sun.... Should I go on... I could, for a long long time, Walsall has loads of new clubs & bars.
  • You should definitely try the Stein Bar - music is good (to suit all), there is an outside bar when it gets too hot and there is hardly ever any trouble (unlike most places in Walsall.
  • Go for the Vaults and my favourite 'The Rising Sun' where you get the best alternative and rock sounds... Vaults is good for general live music though Rising Sun has good stuff on Friday nights...
  • chacargo rock cafe
  • The Vaults was the one and only really and that now seems to have stopped allowing local bands to play there, probably because of the small numbers of people who used to go there.
  • The Trough aka Rising Sun is good if you like smelly rockers, crap music, rotten cider and vomit on your shoes - Reg the landlord resembles Grizzly Adams from Gentle Ben.....
  • BEING PARTIALLY DEAF I ENJOY WHAT WALSALL HAS TO OFFER
  • The Vaults gives lots of younger artists a chance and has mucho top totty.
  • Hogs Head has some very OLD music once and a while if your desperate
  • The Vaults is the best for local talent!
  • The Rising Sun - Ablewell Street (Formerley The Watering Trough or 'The Troff' to us locals). Bands playing on Sunday afternoon's. Excellent on Friday night's too. Rocker's paradise!
  • The Vaults plays a good range of local bands and they have good drinks offers. Other than that the "other" clubs were never there or have gone. Not a particuarly healthy live music scene.
  • did anyone see a band called 'The Fridge magnets' at the vaultz a few weeks ago they were fantastic if you get the chance catch em if you can slightly older i grant you that but they give ya what you wanna hear!!
  • the flock is worth a giggle at the moment for the battle of the bands.
  • Flock & Firkin, formerly The Wheatshef, Birmingham Road. Battle of the Bands Thursday, Saturday & Sunday. Comedy last Friday of the month.
  • The Boundary hotel, the Vaults, Wolverhampton.
  • What about the Vaults, got to be the best place to go in town if you want to see a live band. A crackin night out, dark and atmospheric downstairs, but thats basically because it's a cellar.
  • how I lament the passing of the Wheatsheaf. Reckon there's only New World now
  • not really. a couple of places do folk/tribute bands.
  • none, they closed the watering trough and the starting gate, where alternative music was always played......
