my nan ellen smith,along with her sisters doris and janet were at aldersbrook childrens home between 1927-1939.. she tells me they were very tough times ..they were sent there after there mother(alice smith) died and father (joseph smith) was sent to prison for not paying for them .they originally came from tinto road canning town!! does anybody recall any of them????

    My dad was there from 1931 to 1944, at aldersbrook childrems home, we had a few pictures of them outside the building, long since gone now, i live about 15 minutes away

    my dad was in the home from 1930 ish till 1938 when he was put into the royal navy he told me they were only allowed shoes from november to may then it was bare foot he was in the home under his grandmothers name and was known as curly smith if anyone remembers him please contact me his first names was dennis robert

    My name Is Anthony Thurston and i am trying to trace my family tree.
    All i know about my Father is that he separated from my mother in 1943 and my late mother would never speak about him.

    Hi, my mother was at Aldersbrook around 1949 up.. she was a Worthy and had two sisters who were Thompson and a brother Roy Worthy...

    Any names familiar to anyone?

    Anyone any pictures of the home or any infor a round this time?

Hi, my dad was in Aldersbrook Childrens home from about 1924 to 1934. He remembers a lot about it. Particularly two friends of his Charlie and Kenneth Goff who were there at the same time.     yes my dad was at aldersbrook children home too, he was bown in 1927 and went in at 4 i think so about 1931

    my dad was in there from 1930 ish to 1938 he said it was harsh and he was often beaten because he got his hairbrush wet he was in from 4 yrs old till he was eleven at which time because he used to run away so often he was put in the royal navy
