- A few backstreets away going East is a little fancy home made
cake shop in aside street where Mick Jagger is reputed to order
his cakes.
Its quite good but a bit Womens Institute ish.
Standing on the IMAX island cinema traffic island look East,before the bridge.
You will see a good Italian restaurant.Go along that street to the end.The cake
shop is then right,on the corner I think.
- Dumpling Inn on Baylis Road -- cute little Chinese noodle bar
- See above.the ease of brining in really excellent French food
via Eurostar is a really exciting idea.
- The Archduke wine bar is ok and has jazz...nice
Studio 61 (I think it's called) is good, and has swanky, good and filling bar snacks (tarama, hummus, falafel) for about £3, which is good for the area
- Jenni's burgers in the Elephant Centre. Lovely grub...if you can put up with the insects.
- NFT and Festy are usually no-go areas for skaters. Everyone else welcome, if that attitude doesn't put you off. McDonalds across footbridge to Charing Cross Station. Chippie south of roundabout near Waterloo Station.
- Upmarket "Fire Station" bar/restaurant further along.
- Gourmet Pizza company downstream of South Bank itself in Gabriel's Wharf.
- Legendary fish restaurant in The Cut
