  • Shell Centre is officially dead....all the sets have been skate stoppered...though you could be up for clearin them...though its still not the same...sob sob
  • dont worry too much.... its only the smaller banks that have been killed off. the shell, the main banks, the bridge bank etc.... still exsist.
  • Southbank - under the National Theatre has been desroyed after 30 years of use. Home of skateboarding in the Uk has now gone.
  • SouthBank- Two banks one bigger than other good for stalls, grinds etc. ramp in middle very shallow good for flip trick and manuals. Big stair set, into bank bowl with rail at top for boardslides. All covered! Great atmosphere. Best skate spot in Britain if there say hello to regulars. Tom, Weasel, Bill, Max, Femi.....
  • There's more information about this spot in the Slam City Guide.
  • The home of London skating for the last 19 years. Early in 1990 the South Bank administration tried to wreck the bank by building fences along the main banks. The big banks remain, so do the steps, and flatland antics, boardslides etc., keep the security guards busy. Last attempt at institutionalised vandalism causes grief to those wearing stilleto heels, but not skaters.
  • Also Shell Centre just along the road, sometimes a bust.
  • Whole area is Mecca for London skaters and vital hook-up point. Certain areas covered and usually stay dry.
  • Strange event of '95 -- hiring the National Film Theatre for a skate video premiere.
  • There is a flat area with steps, 3 and 6, just to the left when you are coming out of Waterloo station across the bridge. Right Near the Shell Centre, you can see it. Trouble: Nothing. Fun: Ollie down the 6 steps everytime a tour bus stops. Lots of OOHS and AHHS.
