You can tell us more about Waterlooville.

Pubs
  • The Woodpecker has returned to being a trouble free environment since April 2005 and is still trouble free today at the start of 2006. A member of the local Pubwatch and the Good Pub Guide and holders of the Cask Marque Award, the Woodpecker has turned its back on what "used to be" and now offers something for everyone (except trouble makers) with a relaxed atmosphere and extended opening hours. If you don't believe us, come and try us for yourself!
  • Your assessment of the Woodpecker as a no trouble pub used to be correct but under the new manager, that is no longer the case as it is the manager that is turning the great pub into a place with a less than friendly atmosphere by his confruntational manor towards the customers.
  • The Woodman is a great pub to drink in especially now the new landlord and have taken over... Nice friendly atmosphere.. no trouble.. no nonsence.. great Sunday Lunch as well as food all week.. If you fancy a snack when the kitchen is shut just ask for food and if they can they will oblige
  • I must say the best pub in Waterlooville is the Woodpecker situated on the main London Road. This great pub has plenty to offer with friendly staff and great restaurant area. Children are allowed upto 7pm (unless in restaurant, i think). But it gets very busy and guaranteed to be no trouble every. Must visit if in area.
  • The Heroes
  • The Heroes is still the best, though the lounge bar extension has made that part of it rather anonymous. The public bar and small bar are still excellent, though - superb Gales real ales. The Wellington on London Road is also OK. Gales Ales also available at the Football Club bar. Avoid The Jester - tacky decor, and full of teenagers.
