Skateboarding Spots
- There is a half-pipe up in Weldon Woodland Park... But it's normally covered in small children cursing at you.
- Concrete mni ramp in the country park on the old Kettering/Stamford road. About four foot six high, possibly ten foot radius tranny, sixteen foot wide with about ten foot flat. Its about as smooth as possible without being glass and absolutely rock solid. - the only problem is the coping which has been refitted a bit too far out horizontally with maybe a 15-20mm overhang. Its also suffered from a little bit of movement laterally which has been filled with cement quite nicely. I may go back with tools and sort out that coping and it will be a totally useable ramp. When we went it was deserted as its a good half mile from the carpark alomg an unskateable gravel track. Directions - from Corby heading north on the A47T take the right turn to Weldon off the dual carriageway about 1/2 mile before roundabout with A427. The country park is on the left about 200-300m past the rubbish recycling site on the right. Car park just inside the entrance, with map on a board as you enter the park. Look for the "Rollerblade" area.
- These don't work in the area, something to do with too many sheep and the mess they leave on the street.
