• David Blaine never levitated he just entered one of Wellingborough's rough dog slapper hovels by mistake one day and the stench was so bad he floated to the bar and it was just caught on film that night,that's all...trick now fathomed out.
• Carriage House in Oxford Street good for a quieter drink of good beer. Nice building and bar. Some remarkably shit pubs in town that are really struggling to do decent trade.
• Screw what you've heard. We've found the Horseshoe and Satan has decreed it rocks once more. The Litten Tree on the other hand is still full of antisocial b*****ds.
• Redwell pub. Best time to pick up a shag 9am-3pm. The posh totty come later.
• The queens head is lovely for a quiet pint, on the livelier side the horseshoe has always attracted a good mix of people, and
• The george wilby.
• 4 all who luv the weed gotta be the coach and horses yeah i know its a whole 2 mins from town (well depends how drunk/stoned u get b4 u head that way) but believe it or not the reputation it has is'nt true atall there aint no trouble there well not with us locals anyway we just got new owners again see how long these last
• redwell. ideal for under aged drinking. just let that whispy bumfluff stiffen up first.
• A good selection of Real beers at very reasonable prices in The Red Well. No loud music and no Telly either, but you can still hardly hear yourself think on a Friday or Saturday night, as it gets so busy. Tends to be a bit of a 18s - 30s meat market over the weekend. It's a Weatherspoons, so the food's cheap too. Don't know what it's like though, 'cause I've never eaten there!
• The Cromwell (if you dare to venture that way after dark - or indeed at all) can also not tell the time. It also contains Robocop (Tony - little security guard type bloke who thinks he's Elvis). Watch out for the crackheads and school kids tho...
• Actually, the Horseshoe's website is www.horseshoe-inn.co.uk (I know, 'cos I'm the webmaster of it!). There's also The Cannon in Cannon Street, and the Cambridge Tap in Cambridge Street.
• The redwell is a good pub has a no smoking section and pints of fosters are £1 but its got no music.The kingfisher isa nother good pub and that has jukebox music.The fiddlers elbow a.k.a kiddy fiddlers excellent if your into school kids.And the rest are pretty much infested with skanky crack heads.
• Although pubs seem to be the dominant form of life in Wellingborough along with estate agents, for me the only game in town is The Horseshoe Inn. Found just down the hill from the Hind hotel this is THE place to be. On wednesday nights there is usually a live band and from thursday through sunday you'll find Chris the DJ holding court and stonking out the 'choons!' I'm usually in that corner, one of the "Regulars" as immortalised in the official website (www.thehorseshoe-inn.co.uk). Check it out!
• The Dun Cow was for many years the place to hang, before hitting the circuit. The Queens Head, just down the road has taken the mantle of being unalbe to tell the time after 10:30. Pool table and a Jukebox you can hear.
