Cringing Cult of Celebrity in Weymouth, Dorset*
Famous residents and ex-residents.
You can tell us more about Weymouth.
Cringing Cult of Celebrity
- paul graham of chill sometimes is seen walking the streets!!
- Ivan: Local mobile news bullitin. Has been known to shout "Did you know that hitler was a choir boy?" and "Did you know the archbishop of canterbury's retired?"
- Tommy Wright lives in Weymouth, he was on teen big brother and was the first male to have sex in the big brother house. He fell 30 foot out of his bedroom window the day he got paid from the news of the world, he got a bit to drunk!
- i know Oz Whyte has lived here..apparently he said in kerrang magazine the fish and chips are great but he doesnt think much of the people.
- actually martin clunes lives in bridport as i recieved a letter from him when i sent for a signed photo and it had his address and also neil morrisey lives in beer
- the tramps
- Trigger from only fools and horses lives in weymouth, nice man
- if your lucky you might me Oz whyte
- Lassie, the collie dog made famous by hollywood. In 1915 the Germans torpedoed a Royal navy ship and the 'body' of a sailor was washed ashore and laid out on the table of a local pub. Lassie began to lick the guys feet and someone noticed he was reacting to it, and so they revived him. Hollywood got hold of the story and so a star was born. True! I have seen copies of postcards issued at the time celebrating the event.
- The guy who played Darth Vader doesn't live anywhere near here. He lives in London.
- Ozzy Whyte lives round this area
- Billy Bragg (he lives in bridport does he count?) and George Haskell
- Apparently one of Bananarama lives on Portland (the one from Shakespeare's Sister). Local celebrities who come to mind include Vindaloo Vera who is no longer with us, RIP. It always used to amuse me when she would offer both men and women a blow job for 5p. Also the man with the afro who used to work in McDonalds. His dress sense is eccentric to put it politely and he's always wearing platforms. You can't miss him!! He's often around town at the weekend pissed up dressed in spangling clothes. Anyone remember the short, fat, bald drunkered? He always used to walk round town with no shirt on shouting at everyone threatening to set the IRA on them. Ahh, those were the days!!
- I think Martin Clunes lives round here now! Lots of big fish in Weymouth's small pond, due to the sheer volume of very talented musicians who live here. All were famous once!
- Cliff Richard's sister apparently lives on Portland and he is a frequent visitor (or at least used to be).
- Jumping Jimmy Thunder - described himself as an Elvis soundalike. A laugh to watch.
The sand sculptor (Mark someone) is brilliant at making all sorts in sand - despite ignorant yobs bent on destruction - he deserves a medal for perseverance alone - good on ya!
- As if theer are any from here the only ones still immortalised from centuries past is the slowly greening staue of Queen Vic and a bird shite covered one of King George. Oh yes Jesus is among us aswell as the churches keep reminding us!!!
- The rat that brought the plague
- Christopher Wren - Architect
- BOBBY davro thats it
- King George the 5th had a swim in the sea!
Also many notorious criminals at the Verne prison and the prision ship!
- Loads of wannabies, not much else. Not in my book anyway.
- Sorry, there is only me and the people I know, though Electricy (indie stuff) have links to the town.
- Freddie Mercury. Not the original, of course, but a local character who will amaze. Looks nothing like F. M.
Jumping Jimmy Thunder. The Govenor. Do not miss Jimmy as he jumps and jumps and gyrates out of key and out of time. Stunning Elvis costumes made by Jimmy's mum. Accompanied by an even worse guitarist. He does not know how bad he is. Brilliant and free. See gig guide.
- Robbie Macintosh: Paul McCartney's guitarist Jess Upton (of band fame)
