  • Holts Art Shop Roper Street - Strange Fruit in the Market Place
  • a few gift shops selling crafts plus a couple in the market selling local art & crafts you could also try holts art shop at the top of roper st
  • micheal moon
  • Strange fruit in the market place is the only plecae to go for COOL stuff - keyrings and teddies smooking spliffs. they do tattoos too - fake !!!and piercings!!!!
  • The Beacon, and its proper shit. it gets about 5 people in a year. Fantastic, a pat on the back for the backward halfwit who dreamed that baby up. Rumour has it that they now want a 100ft statue of Gulliver. I suggest a 100ft statue of Stumpy, the tramp who stabbed that copper.
  • Holts on Roper street
  • Cribbs is an excellent independent bookshop near St Nicholas Gardens which is well worth supporting, particularly when the alternative is WH Smiths. They'll generally have anything you're looking for, quite a lot of diverting stuff you didn't realise you were interested in until that moment, and will order anything that isn't there. Lots of nice cards, wrapping paper, also, so it's a one stop present shop, really. Michael Moon is a also a very good secondhand bookshop - ten minutes there'll always turn up something worth reading, and has a good local section.
  • plenty of twee shops in the town although almost outnumbered 3 to 1 by all the pound shops selling crap also the nearest chandlers is 3 miles away in Bigrigg, makes the maritime theme of the town a bit of a joke
  • Plenty of art and craft shops about- Holts art shop is very good and they are very helpful. There is an art gallery in the civic Hall which is O.K
  • The Harbour Gallery in The Beacon Rosehill Gallery
