• the three tuns has some goods bands playing but the events at civic hall like the mighty boof are awsome for live local bands
• The three Tuns Is superb for that intimate gig feeling
• The Three Tuns. The most ace pub in town. Shaun & Alison rule. They have some really good bands on. ROCK ON!!!!

• civic hall has some great rock nites if your into that kinda thing or even if your not like me, i enjoy them but i dont dress like a goth.

• The Civic Hall has had a bit of a renaissance recently, with Lloyd Cole, the Wildhearts and Spiritualized all playing in the last few months. Could it become the random back-of-beyond pre-tour warm-up gig venue of choice? Fingers crossed that it continues, because it's a long trip to Newcastle...

• Civic hall has bn known to have some gd rock nites... tho they r overridden by 13 yr old mini moshers. its past their bedtime....get bak to bed!
• The Civic Hall seems to be getting it right, though,Ash, Therapy, the Liquid Nation dance events. Someone has realised there's more to night life than Gallaghers.
• Civic hall has just had a nirvana tribute band and the lost prophets are coming next year. yaay
• One other event to look out for is Liqiud Nation on new years eve @ Whitehaven Civic Hall for a quality night out. I went to the last one and I'll be at the next, I would say more about it but there is just too much to tell. Trust me.

• THE PARK NIGHT CLUB
• In all fairness Whitehaven has the Rosehill Theatre, which has attracted a fair few big stars( from about 30 years ago. We've had a few tribute bands such as Magic(Queen) Lindisfarne(big band from the 70s, not a tribute. I saw a tremendous performance by a tribute Beach Boy band.
• Castle Park has rock concerts. Check local press for details
• Shadows has live bands on occasionally
• Rosehill Theatre, for the Blues and Jazz and The Civic Hall for the three tenors and Ballets
• "The Three Tons" has live heavy metal bands. Only recommended if you're very hard, very stupid, or a masochist.
