I was browsing the Internet and saw this message.
I last saw Peter Greenway 5 years ago, but didn't keep in touch, his parents are still at the same address as are Brian Oxleys, Brian, i think has moved to Derby, but i've not been able to get in touch. I haven't seen or heard from Neil Smith in 21 years.

Looking for an old mate by Matthew Wood (Member 10016497) on 4-Sep-2000
Does anyone know the whereabouts of my old school friend Steven Antcliff. We were at Wickersley Comprehensive together 1985-1990 and lost touch around 1992. Previously from Sunnyside, he was last known to be living/working in Skegness around 1993 and maybe joined the army around this time. If anyone has any info please let me know.

Teenage friend. by Clive Reynolds (Member 10010235) on 9-Apr-2000
In 1960, when I was just 16, I had a brief friendship with a girl who worked at a soft drinks factory in Wickersley. She lived in Maltby,
her Maiden name was Ethel Watts and she married
Terence Booth in 1961.

I would be very interested to hear how their life developed and to perhaps exchange grand-children stories etc., If anyone knows of her present whereabouts.

  • Re: Teenage friend. by Paul Addinell (Member 10049706) on 6-Nov-2001
Was the name of the soft drinks factory 'Mayjoy' by any chance? If it was it was owned by my great Grandfather Glen Ripley

  • Re: Long ago. by Mike Lister (Member 10026854) on 24-Feb-2001
Or maybe not that long ago. I too left the area in about 1971 - lived on Newhall Avenue, I recall my formative years in Wickersley Woods, Third Hills, and the old tip! Oh & playing cricket at the bottom of the street.
Went to Dinnington High, the first year that it became comprehensive (1961 I think). Any kindred spirits out there?
    Mike Lister

  • Re: Long ago. by Steven Boyd (Member 10042134) on 30-Aug-2001
I too left the Wickersley area in 1971 at the age of 15 years. I lived in a tiny hamlet called Brampton that even my school pals in Wickersley had never heard of. Being forced to move to Essex due to a family crisis. Longed to move back for several years but it never happened. Would like to hear from anyone that remembers me.
