• Shinny lorry lans! Have the occasional weekend long lan party up memorial hall, top of town!
• ShinyLAN - www.shinylan.co.uk - near as dammit 40 man LANs and growing fast. Hosted in the Wincanton Memorial Hall at the top of High Street. Check out the site for a membership signup form which grants access to the forum and allows you to set up a gaming handle with which to sign up to the next LAN party. Entry is usually £20 in advance - you can pay online via Paypall so its all secure and wotnot. Otherwise its £30 on the door, naturally we need assurance of numbers attending before the event... The site contains all kinds of details about LANs including those specific to past and future LANs. The forum contains pages and pages of chat amongst existing members, most of which have attended at least one event. Read the forums for a good idea of what goes on at a LAN party. All games are welcome, although CS is most popular. Battlefield, WC3, DoW, DoD, anything goes as long as you can find enough people to play! Projector for movie clips and speaker system for... err... sound bites! Mass poker playage has recently become VERY popular, NON-gambling-with-real-money of course... • There's a group called Shiny LAN (aka Shiny Lorry LAN) who run a couple of all weekend bashes in the Memorial Hall. I'm sure there's one on 20th Aug but can't find details. Anyone that does - update us.
