Cinemas
  • The Screen in Southgate Street is ok but does suffer from having little parking and limited seating. Only 2 screens though and can get busy if showing a new release.
  • tiny, shows the big films, intimate, i like it as long as the film i want is on, otherwise southamptons down the road
  • the screen near stcross
  • its small..nd expensive
  • well, it's in a small old building and only has two screens, i like it, it's sweet and arty and shows blockbusters as well as a few more unusual/arthouse films. Good food and bar and nice friendly atmosphere.
  • I love the screen - u always make friends with random funny groups of people or meet people you know there
  • The Screen is good because it's a bit more independent than a big fuck-off Odeon/Warner complex. It's in a converted church which caused a local ruck once upon a time. But that's another story...
  • The Screen at Winchester is pretty cool, if not a tad sacrilidge, its a converted church building on St cross road.
  • the screen is a small cinema with only a couple of films on, but it's quite cosy inside, and has a nice pub opposite.
  • Don't try and smuggle food of your own into the screen. Especially take away pizzas. They catch you EVERY time.
  • The Screen is the only one in whinch i know about
  • the screen!! how cute!! but they show good films so its all gravy
  • The Screen, but i'd just head off to southampton they have like 12 multiplexes.
  • Just the one, with two screens, high prices for popcorn like normal cinema's, yet with a small range of alcoholic beverages. Rather pants though as you can't take these in with you (the alcohol I mean)
  • The cinema is pants, Brand new Ster Century in Basingstoke is the best cinema nearby.
  • A really mmmminny ickle cute cinema here in winch. 5 screens each one cuter and more tiny than the last!
  • Go to the Odeon for big films that need great sound, but little films are cool at the screen, and its not that expensive if you go during the week, plus the people there are really great.
  • One cinema, reasonably priced, screen quite small - go to Southampton
  • look, its not that bad ok. at least we have a cinema. some people need to brighten up a bit. on the whole winchester rocks, if u find the right routes.
  • There's a 2 screen cinema on the way into town from the motorway, dunno the name of the road but if you stand outside O'Neill's and look straight ahead, it's on that road. 2 screens and a bit too small really.
  • One small cinema - The Screen - nice cinema but only two screens. Its an old converted church or something, not the cheapest place to get into although there are student discounts. nice but limited, the odeon in leisure world, southampton, is the closest multiplex which is god and has a number of other things on site.
  • Occasionally.
  • The screen is sweet, the staff are great, and the atmostphere can be really good if its a comedy, cause its so small, like sitting in ya front room
  • Small,not much parking.
  • Bowling?Only if you're an old biddy, then you can go Lawn Bowling.Nearest ten-pin bowling is Southampton.Quasar? No way!Southampton again I'm afraid. Which brings me to the cinema. It's typically Winchester:SMALL!Parking is extremely minimal, probably no more than ten spaces, not a lot of seats in the two screens either. The old cinema on North Walls was knocked down in the 80's to make way for old biddies flats (which had 3 screens)the other cinema on Middle Brook St shut donkeys years ago, then became a bingo hall, then that shut down & it's now........a "Family Church".Say no more, you should have a basic idea what Winchester is like now for entertainment unless you're a "Grockle" & love boring historic cack!
  • The Screen : A good mix of popular and art house films but the seats are too small.
  • No Bowling, no quasa, no ice-skating, no athletics track, one cinema which is useless- unless you know one of the assistants and can get free acess.
  • The Screen - has two screens - quite good cheaper in the day than evening - usually has films on for about a day, and usually after the rest of the country has seen it.
  • i would travel miles to use any other cinema, expensive , tiny and cramped
  • New one's pretty good, too expensive though, like everything in Winchester.
  • 1 cinema now - 'the screen' but its only got 2 bloody screens and there is only ever a max of 3 films showing at once. Its alright though - sept the munch is real expensive. Go to LeisureWorld in Southampton - its got about 50 screens showing all the films in the world all the time.
