Clothes Shops, Shoe Shops, Fashion and Bargains
- Stinky Fish- alternativ clothing by the train station
- Does anybody know where i can get goth/punk clothes in winchester? Im moving there in a week or so, corsets, tights, tutus etc
- jazz
- Loads of charity shops...ummmm
- Mainly the average chainstores, but a recent addition is Jigsaw. If you want more alternative clothing there is Stinky Fish near the station.
- theres always some good wear at age concern
- Jazz clothing, Canned skate shop . . . them are sweet
- Parchment street and the surrounding area is good for Charity shops
- jazz, but a warning to people with weak hearts i wouldn't recommend looking at the price tags. i generally don't buy clothes from winchester, it's crap. there's a load of chain stores like new look etc. but no h&m.
- Caned clothing will make you look like a really nice skateboarder! Isn't that just fantastic!
- CANED CLOTHING.CANED CLOTHING.CANED CLOTHING.CANED CLOTHING.
Really nice stuff. Nice colours, textures, quality, smell, favour, you name it their clothes are actually really good. Suck 'em and see!
- Beware of new look shoes, they may be amazingly good value and look great but after a week or two of wearing the heels come flying off, straps snap and boots are ripped. Of course they can't be refunded/exchanged because they've already been worn. BASTARDS.
- Skate shops are so over priced i suggest charity shops for novelty and who knows what bargins you'll get for like a quid!
- DEBUT..best shop ever.....bit snooty, but fucking good shit there...diesel. miss sixty, french connection etc
- Loads of them, ranging for the mature...or the oldies (lets be honest here) to the young and present day.
New Look is v.popular, along with River Island, Topshop, Oasis and Warehouse. Just be warned that that lovely top that you buy in New Look girls, will be seen on 7 other people on the ceremonious night that you wear it.
Always sales going on in Pilot, or...OR SOMEWHERE, so it's aaaaaall good.
Loads of Skater shops. Although more and more townies are coming into Winch (most of them are Dance Studies people *coughs*) Skater is still the number one trend. It is okay to dye your hair and peirce your body, and wear make up if your a bloke. And goths aren't considered by all as depressing.
- Jazz is a trendy hip hop/skatey shop on the entrance of the brooks centre, and also debut on the corner of high street/southgate street.
- Caned, McQueens, Jazz, Sir+, er...... Can pick up some fun stuff in the antiques market.
- Jazz in the Brooks and McQueens on the High Street are cool and so is Caned Clothing near the Cathedral.
- Clothes shops have got much better since I was younger:river island, topshop,etc.. the designer room and repertoire are now open in the Brooks although Repertoire is very expensive. Debut, at the top of the High Street, is also good if you are looking to splash out and they usually have quite a good selection of new stock.
- jazz clothing in the brook's center. mcqueen's on the high street. ya got ya usual department stores etc too. Sir + near the train station (and kebab house) has some neato stuff (also sells things like bongs and pipes, if that's your sorta thing)
- Jazz clothing in the brooks is good, although can be a touch expensive, kinda skater/surfer orientated, mcqueen near buttercross not bad, 'big sky' up oppisite the man on the horse by the law courts is a shop for the surfer orientated with the more generously filled wallets amongst us. Sir+ by the station is good for alternative clothing.
- The usual dull brand-crazy high street shops.
- There's an M&S. Rockin'
- Jazz Clothing in the Brooks has got some good gear but some things can be expensive there, definately worth a look when they've got a sale on.
Mc Queens is good for designer stuff but overall Winchester is pants for decent shops.
- There are a couple of shops on Stockbridge Road under the railway bridge - an army surplus which is really cheap (watch out for the bloke working there hes a bit odd) and Johnny Favourites where there are loads of bargains if youre prepared to look along with some goth and metal stuff.
- If your a sloane your in luck - every other shop sells the crap that you wear. If your a squaddie - Mcqueens in the Highstreet.
- Many- River Island / Top shop / Debenhams / New Look / Posh shops for older people / Allsports / JJB / Dorothy Perkins /Skate Shop for clothes in the Brooks and at the top of the high street near the man on the horse statue. Air, land and Sea for excellent value and quality outdoor clothing.
- No skate clothes stockists at all. There are a few clothes shops that are like superior versions of River Island which have the odd nice shirt. Again though, they're pricey.
- There are actually a couple of skate and skate gear shops now.
- Caned rules although a bit pricey in some respects - very top of high street opposite weird statue thing and by marketing sciences building.....moving into square soon though
- there's a newish little skate style shop at the top of the highstreet, just before the westgate on the right as you go up the hill
