- If you are looking for Wargame opponents, whether in the Fantasy, Warhammer, Ancients, Napoleonics or Modern eras, Winchester boasts two wargame Clubs. The Wessex Wargamers Winchester meet on Tuesday evenings from 7pm at the Badger Farm Community Centre and include a role playing group. The Winchester Wargamers meet on the 1st Saturday of each month from 2pm at the Log Cabin off the Stockbridge road and run a participation game every month, just turn up and play.
Both Clubs have their own websites.
- GAME!!!!! fantastic, much better than all the other shops in town for games
- GAME in the middle of the highstreet and if you like painting little figures of dwarves then Games Workshop on the road parallel to the high st.
- They hold Dungeons and Dragons and Warhammer type events at the Games Workshop just off Jury Street
- There is a Game in town, on your way to The Porthouse. Loads of pre-pubescent lads hang out there, getting their 'fix' of plastic castles and painting little plastic soilders. Oooooh, mad stuff.
- Go to GAME to talk to the staff who know nothing about gaming whatsoever. Again, for cheaper games go to MVC and use your (free) MVC card to get a few quid off.
- 'game' computer games shop opposite the buttercross. Good shop stocking a lot of second hand items at reasonable price.
- UNC's magical playground amazing for all your war hammer fun
- uhh Beatties sorta fell into a downward spiral, closed down and is now one of those annoying 'europe value crap' stores or whatever they are. it has such an annoying tape on a continuous loop just indside the 'tunnel-like' entrance. would someone pls steal it next time they are in winch?
- Beatties, games workshop - selling those really shit and annoying model soldiers that some people find cool.
- Beatties sells alot of N64/Playstn/PC games - ok prices too. WH Smith is shit as its charges huge amounts of wad.
