Live Music Venues
- sothampton guildhall and portsmouth are the closest the big stars come but the railway is good 4 bands to play and otherwise ther r loads of 'teen gigs' around, check out the youth drop in centre or summit
- railway inn is de place 2b! roots nite, which is free, is usually really really gud!!, musicians and comedians whov cracked me up:D, bt de normal nites prices really vary (sum1 sed it cn cost up2 £4)oh noo it cn cost much more den dat!!£5/6 often and sum americana bands even £8/£9!!!
- Railway Inn - good for quite talented bands but mainly old people go there. Local events such as the dogfests have been organised in the past, it's obvious that the bands have not been payed to play though, despite taking it so seriously.
- The ship inn , 4th November
- Railway...Guildhall tavern..Joiners (southampton)
- The Railway Inn near the train station
- The Railway, it's the place to be!
- Railway can not be beaten, its just too dang cool
- Railway Inn. Top open mic night on Monday evenings. Rumoured to be the best outside London. Get there before 9pm if you want to play.
- railway inn - it's not bad, but i've seen a fair few shite bands there. once went to a d'n'b, which was pretty empty. oh and unfortunately missed shane from boyzone's gig with his rap metal band.
- Railway every time, but find put whos playing first! You might end up standing amongst 12yr old punk gits while some awful shite is being "sang". Otherwise listen to some more tuneful sounds with some great indie rock. Highly recommeded are "the trade" and "samo".
- Aparently the railways good
- Railway
Check OUt Dogfest www.dog-fest.co.uk
- the railway
- Homelands happens annually at the Matterley Bowl estate nearby - which is good.
The Railway in Fulflood always has weekly nights of music from obscure upcoming Indie and Rock outfits.
- Railway Inn. Very good, friendly atmosphere. Can be very expensive to get in though, sometimes costing as much as £4 just for entry. Beware of UV lights, unless you want to show yourself off. Why not, most people do in Winchester.
- The railways pretty cool, its yellow so you can't miss it really.
- The Railway Inn has really good live gigs
The Mash Tun isn't bad either.
- Near the station there's a pub called the railway inn; they got a room on the back where there's live music and stuff going on fairly regularly
- Thought I should let you know that the Railway Inn is indeed still open having been refurbished & there are some fantastic bands playing there each month - for further details they have a web site at http://www.liveattherailway.co.uk
- Railway inn, very good selection of live bands, drum 'n bass etc... Coldplay have played there before they where famous.

Anywayz thanx a million. kim. (babs_uk_2000@hotmail.com)
- They painted the Railway yellow. How cool is that? The Tower is great, though.
- Railway, good place but watch out for dodgy punk wannabes (Vacant). Top djs tho like Clug,Shea and the unbeatable Eskimo
- The North Pole has now closed... shame really, it was a great place to go, but its now boarded up and looks like reopening as a charity shop.
- Railway Tavern - a bit grungy but good bands.
Two SU bars - not bad.
- The cool place to go was The North Pole, but it has now closed down.
- mash tun on tuesday nights, if Adam's working he takes requests through out the day
- Railway Inn / The North Pole / Student's Union - Winchester school of Art.
- The Railway Inn's gigs: famous throughout the country.
- i hope the railway hasn't shut down cos it rules and loads of cool andover bands played there - 'Avenue' (!?) 'Book Harrison' (best band on planet pretty much) 'Bunyip' (ahah) etc....
- The North Pole-Parchment Street. Dingy back room for breaking talent in. Had some reasonable nights there. The Onion-Winchester Art College Student Union, if you can get in it's had some pretty decent nights.
