Record Shops in Winchester, Hampshire*

The places where you buy your music

You can tell us more about Winchester.

Record Shops
  • HMV in winch is gd, main reocord place, resort to the net if its not there
  • HMV- student discount
  • well, there's the Oxfam book and record shop in Partchment St, has a good mix of quality retro, golden oldies and more modern stuff.
  • hmv,mvc,whsmiths . . . . . . . . the usual . . . . . . . boring
  • Oxfam in Parchment Street is worth a visit but the prices are fucking ridiculous. Any Beatles record is a minimum of £15 which means the stock doesn't change very fast.
  • winchester is pretty crap for records. you could go to hmv or mvc, or upstairs in the oxfam shop.
  • London, Bristol, Internet.
  • HMV is very good for music thats it really.
  • HMV, MVC, WHSmiths.....we have a few good music shops in winch....this city isnt just for the grannies
  • Theres HMV if you whant to be ripped off big time. If not go to MVC in the Brooks theyre pretty good wide variety too. But if you like me whant loads of cheap folk albums and you whant them now go to W H Smiths.
  • MVC and HMV. Oooh, the agony of choice.
  • MVC is cheaper than any other record shop in Winchester. HMV just opened oposite Marks & Spencers.
  • MVC is the only place really, oh no I lie, HMV opened like a week ago.
  • HMV- Just opened- supposedly very easy to blag from but what do I know? Opened by Atomic Kitten.Winchester's, *ahem* "Class" shows through again.
  • MVC is all there is in Winchester - best bet is Southampton.
  • used to be a good specialist vinyl shop on the row of shops near the train station, but not shore if thats still there although, that row is probably your best shot for specialist music, if you want alternative stuff then speak to the people in sir+ and they will point you in the right direction
  • Oxfam is a classic
  • The bastards shut down Venus Records years ago. Then Tubes shut. So don't fucking bother
  • There's a small record shop in Stockbridge Rd at the bottom of Station Hill which sells vinyl records which is mainly Dance music. The music is always banging when you go past.
  • There arnt any ( not even a woolworths )
  • Smiths is crap, MVC is quite good, go to Southampton or Basingstoke.
  • WH Smiths - far too expensive and not very good either, Try MVC in the Brooks centre - cheap singles and albums. Tubular something on City Road is good for weirder records. Best idea - wait until the last Saturday of the month and go to a ROCKING RECORD fair in Southampton guildhall.
  • None-for all those old Wintonians out there, wasn't it a fucker when Venus records shut.
