- Old Wivenhoe is the quaint picturesque Hampstead Heath of Essex.With its old beam exposed cottages, village shops, park and woods, river views and all round natural beauty.
Wivenhoe May Fair is the villages main annual event. An important event in the diary of many of the villages hippy residents. A major drugs fest were the entire village gets high on LSD. The event happens on the last bank holiday in May of every year and is the best day to visit.
- The river, the fresh air, remembering my footloose days of youth eying up the Grammar boys on the bus (not difficult to miss in those purple balzers!)
- The people. The fact that being so close to the university there's such an interesting mix . The pubs. The river. The sheer relaxing nature of the place which can lead one into drifting around aimlessly but happily.
