- Wivenhoe is a bit of a NIMBY paradise. Very Guardian readers and 2CVs, thanks to proximity to Essex University. There's a car sticker - 'Wivenhoe - A Perfect State'. How smug is that? But it's laid-back and friendly even if sometimes you want to scream.
- famous ex-residents-Michael Gough (actor)-near old post office on High St.
- Does any one out there know about 'Lucky Eddie' a strange looking individual who sports customised denim jackets with his name written in felt tip on the back.
- Wivenhoe is still my favorite place in the earth - and while you often don't want too many people to know about treasure - I thought the Knowhere guide was the ideal place to advertise it! Also I hope that any old or new Wivenhovians can use this site as a way to get in touch and gossip (a favorite hobby in Wivenhoe - but always in a friendly way).
I'd also like to pay tribute to Billy the Fish, one of the finest geezersI've known , and our ferryman, amongst other talents, for years. I miss you mate!
