- It has been suggested that Val Kilmer was raised in the Faithful City. This is in fact rubbish! He was raised in Stourport on Severn on a Canal Barge just up from Shipleys. In those days, with no money, he survived on a strict diet of River water, Perch, and the occasional Dog. He's now a Hollywood star. Not bad for a river kid.
- Mario lopez once visited the Faithful City for a charity wrestling match at Perdiswell sports centre. The former Saved by the Bell star was to test his wrestling moves against local hero and WWE hopeful Johnny the Body. There was no way through this local tuff guy and under the cosh Lopez fought with underhand tactics hoofing 'the Body', with considerable force, square in the knackers. Afterwards 'the body' was quoted in the local paper as saying "He fought like a coward and had it been a street fight I would have pummelled his face."

- Mario Lopez aka High School jock 'Slater', once visited the Faithful City to participate in a charity wrestling match versus local hero and WWE hopeful 'Johnny the Body.' The initial good humored and slapstick attitude of the fighters soon turned nasty when unexpectedly, 'the body' brutally slammed Lopez with a chair. The fight ended in what was described 'a street brawl.' Lopez was quoted as saying "...had the match been a street brawl I would have pummeled his face." Lopez won on default.

- The towering, carrot-topped ex Germany, and Borisia Dortmund, footballer Matthias Sammer now plies his trade in Worcester as manager of 'Clinton Cards'. As in his football days on the pitch - he can often be seen carving his way through the throngs of Crowngate shoppers - as if bustling through a packed midfield.
- Stanley Kubrick used to visit Worcester once a year for the beer festival. He liked the place so much he considered filming some of the scenes of war torn Vietnam for his film 'Full Metal Jacket' on Pitch Croft and also in Tolladine.
