Pubs in Worcester, Worcestershire*

The place to go for a lazy afternoon, pub quiz or last call

You can tell us more about Worcester.

Pubs
  • The Exchange one of the worst pubs in Worcester full of drunks and chavs. You can get a lot of gobby 'I think I'm tough' idiots in there on football nights
  • The best pubs in Worcester are The Exchange and The Metro - Metro have it though due to the fact they have the sexiest girl in Worcester working behind the bar.
  • postal order, lloyds, fire fly
  • The Camp at Grimley, not in Worcester itself, but there's a nice river path that you can walk up, will take you all the way from town, about 2/3 miles up river to the village itself, the pub is on Camp Lane, right next to the river. Very good on a summers day, good (and enormous)! cheese and onion rolls, scrumpy cider, cloudy + very nice (but don't drink too much of it! lol).
  • Postal Order, cheap and cheerful. Old Rec quite smart if pricey
  • firefly in lowesmoor ,also the pig & drum
  • Duon't know
  • For a chilled night in gay/gay friendly company then visit Shakespeare's Joint on the last Sunday of every month. 19 Cowl St, Evesham. The night is gay run and gay staffed often with live music, generally acoustic. Not to be Missed!
  • tjs barley mo
  • The Apple Tree of 'firefly' as it is now called is cool. Pig n Drum always good, attracts a varied crowd, Farriers arms and old favourite, its at its best during summer.
  • The Cardinals Hat (Friar Street) for great draught Austrian Beer and Sausages.
  • Courtyard. Gets very busy, but barstaff are great and you rarely have to wait to get served.
  • The Cardinals Hat on Friar Street for great Austrian beer and sausages.
  • The Blower is somewhere me and my mates hang out religiously. friendly staff, newly refurbished, a pub in the day and more of a bar in the evenings. good food, cheap drinks, really chilled out..love it. Farriers Arms is also a nice old-fashioned p[..was overrun with youngsters at one point but is much better now and has a pool table. and darts board..hours of fun! Lloyds Bar is also nice as a day hang out or early evening, on the big sofas at the back with a fag and a long drink. cheap food too. hate it in the evening though.
  • I may not be "cool" but if your after a few cheap beverages in an enviroment you can relax in "The Postal Order" on Foregate st is sweet. I've been all round this City and can safely say 99p for a bottle of corona is all the evidence i need. Its hard to justify going anywhere else.
  • The Gun Tavern is a delightful free house serving a range of guest ales. The food is not so good but the atmosphere more than make up for it
  • I've always loved Toby's Tavern- great atmos - great people - great times!
  • r.s.v.p the best bup in worcs.
  • Pig & Drum! Awesome music (good 'n'loud) and the landlord Andy's a diamond geezer
  • Bar Apres (better since it got refurbed, still sucks in the young uns'!) Marrs Bar, Postal Order, good for cheap start to the night, Courtyard, usually packed and RSVP, also usually rammed but good offer of Vodka&RedBull at £1, baring in mind it does rip your throat out with the lack of Red bull!
  • Heroes, though its slowly filling up with trendies.
  • Cardinals Hat for an Austrian Beer/Food exeperience (Friar Street) and The Swan with 2 Nicks for real ale and draught Belgian beer (new Street).
  • The Talbot opposite Warner Brothers Cinema always has a Fresh Faced crowd. If you are more legally viable then RED is a must.
  • For the er... fresh faced crowd, The Postal Order is the place to go, its damn cheap to. But you do get alot of dossers and dodgy types hanging around in there.
  • slug n jug is very popular these days
  • watch of the bunch of twattish students in toby's tavern. they all need to be shot (colin, buster, becky, frankie, laura et al.) tey don't buy any drinks. ever. probably cause they're UNDERAGE!!
  • courtyard, barrells, horn and trumpet, rsvp, and postal order is cheap.
  • i like seamus' by Warner Village Cinema, very friendly.
  • Basically, 15 years ago, Worcester had a great variety of pubs, bars, pick up joints, wine bars and cocktail bars. Something for everyone. Now its a big pile of second-rate poo. Generally you get get to choose between drunken cattle markets, crusty dives full of ex-cons or tepid bars with no atmosphere. If you want a decent pint of beer then the best are the Salmon's Leap (don't annoy the barmaid), the Dragon (the landlord is bastard), the Swan with two nicks (iritating barmaids), and the Postal Order which is a Wetherspoons and therefore full of poor students, old people and strange gits. Pick up joints. It is amazing that anyone would want to pick up someone from Worcester, but if you are that desperate then Bushwackers is run by some thuggy miami-vice lookalikes called dazza and kev I think who don't wear socks and sport mullets. Classy!! This place is full of thicko/drunck townies, hookers and arrogant rugby players - Nice!! They also run the Kangaroo Bar with equal infamy. The Pheasant/Slug and Lettuce/Eagle Vaults/Olde Talbot have all gone to pot. Keystones is like a student union, RSVP is a pick-up joint as is Chicago Rock, O'neills is just O'neills with crap staff, the Courtyard is full of kids (don't go near toby's) - as is the horn and trumpet. The talbot in the tything is ok but crap beer and a chain, other tything pubs include the famous Guinness serving Lamb and Flag - Elmo the landlord has been in a few Hitchcock films, the Dragon (see above - don't go to the loo when the ladlord's there), the green man - someone's front room, the scaracen's head - ditto. If you really want to go to a decent pub in Worcester - go to Cheltenham.
  • The Talbot (Barbourne Rd, not the crappy hotel thingy opposite Warner Bros - mind you, good cheap food) for good mix of people and cheapish beer. Nice pool table and there's usually a babe behind the bar, somewhere.
  • The Postal Order. Beer and a Burger.
  • Sheamus O'Donnells for great a Guinness and no yob or Bobby Frost hassle - a nice place for a nice pint.
  • Try & breath through your nose next time u go to the gents in the Mount Pleasent on the London Rd. Ideal pub if you don`t mind being ignored
  • The blower.Previously refered to as "a good pre club pub".My arse!Afine establishment if ever there were one.Like an interactive episode of cheers every day.The beer's grand and the service is always a pleasure.Cheers folks.
  • rsvp's fine.not many underage,bouncers r strict.ha!
  • rsvp's fine.not many underage,bouncers r strict.ha!
  • Dont know really.
  • O'Neills!!!The best pub in Worcester because a cetain Miss Phillips works there..well two of em do..
  • The Horn & Trumpet has a great atmosphere and some Very Sexy barmaids!Guinness is good aswel.O'Neil's and Slug and Lettuce do best pint of Guinness in Worcester.
  • The Farriers was always a favourite, however it has lost some of its charm now its been done up,still a good neutral place for a beer though, and the last meal I had there was lush (cod and chips with a jacket potato). Most of my teenage summers were spent in the garden out the back.
  • Courtyard and O' Neils, the Music Room in O'Neils is also good after pub hours.
  • Pre-club bars have gotta b The courtyard and Barels. Top music, and a Double Vodkas and Red Bull please! or on a Thursday@Courtyard 3 for 2 Smirnoff ice . . .
  • O'Neils (part of the national chain) and The Postal Order (Wetherspoons) for some good local microbrews.
  • The in crowd go to the Horn & Trumpet, Peppers (or whatever its called now) and um... that one opposite where the co-op used to be. mmmm.
  • Smoke stack before mr sainsbury planned to put his fat ass down behind it and the smoke stack closed down.......
  • Be reminded how much more mature you really are in Tramps, loads of babes in there. Toddy's and Chicago Rock really, well, Rock
  • the blower in angel place is quite a good pre-club bar (or Horn and Trumpet as it is officially known). the postal order is also good for extremely cheap drinks.
  • The Kangaroo bar is full of fanny.
  • The smoke stack in st johns is a great studdent pub, good pool , good laugh. If you want a gay pub check out good fellows, in town but near the back streets. Avoid Toby's at all measures, full of young drinkers, i used to go there when i was 12.
  • postal order by foregate st station - big, impersonal but excellent cheap beer, wine and food; coach & horses in barbourne basic but friendly
  • The Courtyard (Formally the Laszt Word) and the Conservatory are not too bad
  • The best pub by far is the Slug and Lettuce! Nice pint; good food.
  • The Beehive - good beer, good music, great atmosphere. Phil & Lou are the genial hosts
  • Barrels!! Love it!! Cheap! Crap now that I don't work there! Good DJ though!
  • The Landesdowne by WRGS brings back great memories.
  • O'Neil's - Irish theme pub - good Caffrey's & Guinness Pepper's - Built inside an old church
  • The Apple Tree in Lowesmoor, a real cider house with wierd pickled things, either side of the bar! The Pig and Drum, a serious metal-heads pub at the weekend, used to be the Toad and Tulip. Goodfellows, opposite, rumoured to be a pink pub popular with the ladies. We seem to be suffering the same disease as every other large town or city at the moment, we've caught "Irish Pub Disease", complete with arrogant tossers and shite music. The Irish finally get their own back for all those jokes!
