- Ronnie O'Sullivan(snooker player) was born in Wordsley before moving to Chigwell Essex according to the local paper.
- John Radcliffe was born in Wordsley, he went to study in Oxford when he was thirteen, he became a Bishop.
He founded the world famous hospital named after him.
He never returned to Wordsley.
Carl Bridgewater was murdered in a Farmhouse, since demolished, in the seventies.
The Bridgewater three were cleared of his murder, but the police have never reopened the case, they say there is no new evidence or suspects!
