- In Mill street off Brierley Hill road you can look up along the canal and see a scene almost unchanged from the late eighteenth century.
The White cottage in High street, visible since the demolition of the Technical Institute is well over two hundred years old.
Wordsley Manor stands brooding over the village and dates from the Eighteenth century as well.
Wordsley Hospital faces demolition in the near future, it started life as the Workhouse became a Military Hospital in WWI and WWII, taken over as an NHS hospital it has served as A maternity Hospital and boasts a very fine cosnetic surgery centre as well as cancer wards.
To the rear of the Hospital is a hidden valley housing a residential mental health facility, in the Second World War this area was a prisoner of war camp for Italian and German soldiers.
Wordsley is famous world wide for it's crystal glass and at one time had many glass companies.
The only survivor of those far off days is Stuart Crystal, there are hourly tours of the glass factory and you can see all the operations that go into making the glass.
Outside the glass shop stands the impressive "Red House Cone" its counterpart on the opposite side of the road called the "White house cone was demolished in the seventies.
