- Apart from Next and Dotty P's it's a depressing selection of bargain basement boutiques (bon marche and b-wise) or charity shops. Unless you're a Fushions slapper and are two stone, in which case Envy is the choice!
- oxfam is very good, so i hear! say hello to vera 4 me!
- Civy Street and Orphan Ally are worth checking out if your willing to pay a bit extra for something special.
- B Wise is the best shop in town for cheapo nasty old ladies dresses, you know the type, flowery ones that could house an ethiopan tribe.
- Chaos (to me it will always be bert dixons) has a fairly decent selection, so too does Civvy Street. If your a bird then Envy...if your an old bag then go to old tesco's or one of the (many) charity shops in town...did you know that Workington is the charity shop capital of the North West...theres more charity shops than there is people!

- Pretty poor really. Unless you are really into Next clothing.
The Officer's Club provides a cheap (price and quality) alternative,
due to its alleged reliance on sweatshop manufacturers
