Favourite Building in Worksop, Nottinghamshire*

Art deco, contemporary, futuristic, tall, short...

You can tell us more about Worksop.

Favourite Building
  • The police station and court buildings, busiest places in town, always worth looking at what scum are waiting outside.
  • ikon yeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
  • Hopkinsons Undertakers some where that we all use
  • PRIORY CHUCH, ST JOHNS CHURCH
  • erm...My house!!
  • Body Alter, Equalibrium, my house (out skirts)
  • Bracebridge sewage pumping station "or the s**tworks as some may still call it.
  • Vine
  • Anythin that serves alcohol and food (preferably on the same premises).
  • All of the churches!
  • Got to be the Priory (which was in another town, Radford back in the day!) Welbeck College and erm erm, that funky house on Valley Road where they used to race go karts!!!
  • Priory Church due to its historical facts, and it's haunted!!!
  • Dole office seems quite popular
  • the best buildings, hmmmm, bachelors on teh industrial estate, be on the gateford estates at hte right time and you can smell all thegoodness of pre-packed noobles and catfood.
  • Bertie Bubbles Car wash
  • Ye Old Ship Inn
  • MY HOUSE OR MY HOUSE
  • The old Sewerage Works off High Hoe Road (really). Shame its been allowed to be vandalised the way it has (I regret I smashed windows there a few years ago). Also Bairnswear factory - oh, they are demolishing that - its a factory - council dont like factories - I bet they build more houses!
  • ANYWHERES GOOD FOR A SATURDAY NITE SLASH
  • The big pink house on Sparken Hill!
  • a Skyscraper
  • My own house- its a sacred building where i escape from the nightmare we call Worksop!!
  • mY HOUSE UP GATEFORD!
  • Mcdonalds-except from the lump of hair i once found in a milkshake.........................................
  • The unicorn
  • Micro Fun on Newcastle Avenue used to be fun - remember how cool the lads thought they were who worked there they thought they were greatest thing ever. Then it closed one of them is always in town with a three quater length brown camel jacket, he always has it on. My mate shouted Micro fun at him other day he gave him proper dead eye.
  • 1930's art deco Library...interesting architecture, which means that the council will tear it down and stick the library in the doomed Mayfair Centre. Also few know of the (also doomed) Telephone Exchange Museum on Queen Street; mind its always shut; but apparently IF you can get inside its a real treasure trove, which is why they are going to close it. Given its proximity to Cheapside, its lucky some drug raddled thicksop hasn't burned it down actaully....
  • that one that just got knocked down.............
  • The concetration camp for Mantonites ..... oh sorry its called the "Avenue" isnt it?
  • Mr Straw's House (The National Trust)
  • the ship
  • Worksop has a canal running through it which is picturesque.
  • Tesco. cos its open 24/7
  • The Priory. The Gatehouse. Beauty, and so close to Low town?
  • The proud and lofty 'Lion Gates'and the lodge behind, Sparken Hill entrance to the Welbeck Estate
  • white lion pub.
  • Someone reckons that the French Horn is 'living Edwardiana' and they may be right, but the Fisherman Arms (opposite Labour headquarters near the Canal) is even better; what's more even the poeple inside are authentic Edwardiana, as is the beer. Incidentally has anyone noticed the shape of the landlord's head in the French Horn? Is looks like a loaf of Netto bread stood on its end. Perhaps thats why the git drives his red Golf all over the place at reckless speed with no signals....
  • Railway Station
  • Our Price- Mainly due to the fact i worked there and the 5 floors above it are so big and old, yet cool.
  • French Horn. Living Edwardiana.
  • Few people are aware (apart from the druggies who use it on wintry evenings) of the 'single person chapel' that is tacked onto the side of the Priory gatehouse. Its perhaps the only one left in Europe. Lovely little church, a real mediaeval relic.
  • Norfolk Arms
  • The last house.
  • the frog
  • The Police Station, though it could do with an extention, to house all the dropout criminals from Manton.
  • None...they all look crap
  • the last one you see as you are leaving
  • E.A. Bird and Sons Butchers Ltd.
  • Barclays Bank.
  • Worksop College The row of listed Georgian houses on Park Street
