You can tell us more about Worthing.
Cinemas
- the dome and the connaught are both in central worthing, not been to the connaught, the dome seemed ok when i went there last but havnt been in ages
- I liked the Dome.
- Dome: Go if you want a feel for the old building.....beware tho as you do definately get flea bites!!
- dome, connaught
- Well there is the old shithole, 'The Dome'. Oldest cinema in Britain and cant you tell... I swear to you I caught something from there. You would always leave the place itching everything. One day I went in the morning and spent the rest of the day itching my leg. I then took off my jeans that night and there were these red welts all over me. Thankyou the fucking dome. Hopefully you'll melt away with the rest of Worthing.
- just conourt near the post office. quite expensive but NO POPCORN and have to sit where your told! Dome is well good but being refurbished at the moment, cheap and have great popcorn!!!
- DO NOT GO TO THE DOME!!!!
- the dome, or brighton.
- The Dome or the connaught both a dump
- I'd rather go to the Odeon in Brighton coz although it's more expensive, the screens bigger and its a better picture altogether
- Only the Dome really(Connaught doesnt quite count). Go to Brighton, especially if you would like a decnt seat and appreciate a decent sound system.
- flea ridden ceamped shit hole
- Plans for the mutliplex have been cancelled (the developers are lying b*satrds from all accounts), the Connaught now has two screens alternating with live theatre and panto, but show a good selection of films with comfortable seating in the main screen but mainly blind seating in the other. The dome is still a bit dodgy but now with a plush second screen (DTS sound system), friendly staff and most importantly a bar that lets you take drinks into the screens (albeit in plastic cups!)!!
- THE DOME! I love the dome. It's appalingly uncomfortable, but it's a listed building and it's been there for ages! There's a real history there too. Not sure if it's still doing it, but Tuesdays for students was £2.
There's bowling too on the sea front in town, but it's pretty manky.
- The Dome is a really old cinema on the seafront - built circa 1912. And it shows - do not bother buying tickets for the "posh" balcony area - I am just over five feet tall and my other half is well over six feet and both of us where massively uncomfortable. However, it is a kitsch and funky venue, with the old style entrance hall and a bar - where you can sit on the cow hide style seats in comfort - good selection of nibbles and a decent size screen and half decent sound. Also - it is so local - no need to drive into the middle of nowhere to watch a film. You can also catch films at the local theatres, although the Connaught is unbelievably hot (don't bother, unless you have the 'flu and it's midwinter.....)
- the dome is europes oldest cinema
- The Dome... a classic film viewing venue. Bowling alley on the seafront. Quasar thing near blockbusters video.
- There was one.....now what was it called?
- what cinemas?
- Ah the beloved Dome cinema. A giant tit on the seafront. Well worth a visit if you like fleas.
- check out cinema info at www.sussexfilm.co.uk absolutly brilliant
- ONE the run down shit hole a.k.a the dome
- The Dome is a brilliant cinema and should be kept. It's far superior to any of the Brightion cinemas and everyone should go there at least once a week- support the local venues.
- The Dome, old and musty, extremely uncomfortable but just what you are looking for if you are into historical buildings, anyone?
- Dome. no
- The range of films that I watch in Chichester is excellent !!!
The Dome could show a better range, although the Connayght doesnt do to badly
I see films in Chichester as I am a student there and the choice is really good
good!
- the Dome is cool and should be kept and renovated but the people on the Dome Trust can be cruel and take credit for things that they didn't do.We still need a multi-screen though, coz nearest is in brighton.
- Unfortunately Worthing borough council decided to sell the land where we used to have a multiscreen cinema and build more shops instead in the early eighties. Which is the onlyt reason that the flea infested pit that the dome is has kept its head above water for the last 15 years. Sure its a lovely building but as a cinema it stinks.
- Worthing has finally got it's act together and given the go ahead for a new cinema. We won't have to go to the Dome any more. Even better than that - they are going to destroy Teville Gate to make space for it. The hospital is currently bracing itself for an influx of spotty teenage boy-racers with no-where to go, suffering from the trauma of having to get a life.
- One day, Worthing will have a real cinema. But remember the Dome fire-exit...................
- The Dome Cinema is beautiful and has kept many of its original features (including chandeliers, leather sofas to relax on before the showing, quirky ticket kiosk). Its on the seafront and featured in the film 'Wish You Were Here' (with Emily Lloyd).
- The Dome - Ancient, cold and has a sound system bettered by your average TV, but a great place full of character.
