Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars
  • havnt personally been to liquid lounge but that seems to be the only nightclub people go to, knowing worthing mostly laddish chav types making trouble
  • Ha ha I grew up in worthing and spent many an underage nightout in Desire or Rutherfords!! Of course all their names have been changed 5 times or so but the shitty interiors remain much the same....oh and the toilets are prob older than me. I have lived in london nearly three years now and its nice to see worthing is still held in such high regard with the locals....!!
  • Lets get this upto date and accurate as of the 20/10/06. Lush is no more and has been closed for almost a year, Xcess is now called East (opposite Worthing Station) and the Townies favorite is still the Liquid Lounge. Occassions and Harrys bar are just not worth mentioning. All the clubs play house and pop cheese so dont expect to see Carl Cox or Pete Tong playing a set! Friday night is fight night, so if ou want trouble or are just in the mood for some casual violence then head to either East or Liquid or Eden which is a Pub opposite the town hall(you will get chucked out of Liquid for the slightest thing - you have been warned). Best Night of the week is Monday at East, the original Monday club. Cheap beer and classic anthems and lots of people of all ages. Saturday night anywhere in the town is the usual queue everywhere thing with every saturday sounding and being like every other saturday in Worthing. So if you want to get hammered pull a bird/bloke and then get a kebab/or into a fight then Worthing is the place for you. Worthing - Townies love it!
  • 'The Factory' has closed. The main rock /metal night in Worthing is 'Descent', on a Friday night downstairs at occasions.
  • Monthly World music night with Egyptian Dancers and Dj Ali Khatt at Cafe Monsoon, Bath Place.
  • Well Lush I suppose. There are other clubs, but they're not really worth mentionning, as they're all just the same anyway: full of posing pricks and easy to lay "catch claymidia" girls intent on getting banged over the edge of the pier. For a classier night out, why not try space bar? Full of desperate, adultress over fourties, you never need feel unwanted. My mates uncle Mike using to sit at the bar area with door and just turn left on his barstool to piss. Didnt matter though, those older women seemed to just love a man who marked out his territory, and he got laid with regular abandon. Unfortunately, everything I have said is true.
  • the cafe monsoon 3 bath place worthing is starting a rock night on sunday the 18th december it is £3 to get in but you get a free drink and there will be drinks promotions the doors open 7:30pm music starts 8 pm the djs are steven peters ex guitarist for paul dianno and martin watson both ave great taste in rock music of all styles of rock and tere will also be guest dj's and ocasional live bands in the future support rock music in worthing come along £3 entry ONE FREE DRINK
  • well i work at lush,,,, good on a thursday, liquid is cool, no more 3t0 ''shame'', xs hase changed it's name ''again'', tides is full of old people....
  • 'Filthy Little Habits' alternative night has moved to Liquid Lounge. It's on every Thursday with Live bands every fortnight. Entry is £1.50 before 11pm and the music is splendid and varied. Check www.filthylittlehabits.cjb.net for extra details....it's the only place with any soul left.
  • clubs........errr lush on the pier, bit run down tho.
  • Tides @ The Burlington now hosts an alternative night 'Filthy Little Habits' on Thursday nights every three weeks. Great music for anyone who doesn't want to listen to watered down RnB all night
  • Tides late night venue now host Worthing's first alternative night since the legendary 'Factory' shut it's doors. 'Filthy Little Habits' is on a Thursday about every three weeks. They play everything from Stevie Wonder to the Sex Pistols and it's cheap to get in.
  • Tides, if you after portly over 40's divorced/widowed ladies then thats your bag baby.. If you want to chase some young skirt or just stare at boobs then you should go to Lush upstairs and look over the balcony.. If you want abuse from the door staff then go to the liquid lounge or go see Tiny who is the UK's oldest bouncer and was working there when my Dad was going out, rumour has it he once even turned away Jesus and his disciples for wearing sandals!
  • They are all rather awful and full of assholes wanting a fight for looking at their pint in a strange manner?!
  • The Light Bar, Cafe Central(is sh*t now)
  • Howzit! Im from SA in Steyning for a while and need to seriously let my hair down in a trance club! Help, where in Worthing? Any advice?? Thanx
  • just visted your site for the first time and discovered that you are still talking about the carioca club, and asking the question will it ever open again?well it won,t because it was knocked down in 2002 to make way for more old dears flats. bloody marvellous...
  • Right to set things straight!: Q club is now the Liquid Lounge and Le Chic on two floors Rnb/ Hip hop Dnb etc on wednesday and thursday, chees and party music downstairs at the weekend with dancey trancey and booty shaking stuff upstairs (saturday night is the night to be here), Illusions/Desire is now Xs and all decked out in stripped wood (yawn!) it is however the only place open on a monday and possible the only place that regularly plays ska in the 'bar' section. Rutherfords is now Lush, still the towneys favourite with a combo of cheesey medleys and upfront house/trance and easy women. The place that used to be Flappers and then MiB and T Space Bar (geeks!) is now called 3TO and is the most credible underground dance music place in town. weekdays see combinations of hip-hop/breaks nights, house nights and leftfield stuff whilst Friday is normally Drum n Bass in association with Brighton crew MiniMelt and Saturdays are all forms of four to the floor (house, trance, hard house etc). The place still retains some of its dodgy old men clientele but with Dj's like grooverider, and Anne Savage set to play there this really is worthings only alternative!
  • Liquid Lounge.... full of sgag head Lush............. Snotty Students Xs............... My little sister could probably get a job there!
  • The clubs as I knew them: Illustions (by the station) - dead cheap, not sure if they're still doing 80s night (80s music, 80p per drink, etc) - pretty hasty and full of under 18s... Rubberheads (on the pier) - this is the big one, the outside is cool, you get to wander around the pier in a drunken haze. Two tier club, pretty small compared to london... The Factory (though I think the name has changed) on Anne St - it changes it's name pretty much every year. If you want to go for a good laugh and just chill out this is the best place - plus - if you're lucky you can get downstairs - I don't know how this is cool though... There's about 2 or 3 others in various spots - but I've not been - good thing too...
  • Lush, Area 51, Liquid Lounge, Occasions, the church????, erm and a couple more. One by Worthing Station.
  • Liquid Lounge, formely the Q-Club has been "smartened up" ie. bright couches & seats, jazzy mirrors etc. now 2 floors but the bottom floor not worth mentioning! Get some good sets there. Still get the odd few fights outside but not as many as in the Q-Club days. Not sure if it's worth £6 but admision is cheaper b4 11.
  • rutherfords aka rubberdicks! its a good job that all the teeny boppers and rude boy trevs like the rinsin sounds of garage because out of all the clubs in worthing thats what you HAVE to listen to! easy now!
  • having being going to rutherfords for seven years solid now i can tell you i have wasted my life and you can have more fun being electrocuted. Incidentally, given the seething masses of options you might have to lump it. Brighton is full of " look at me " people anyway.
  • Very seedy once you hit late thirties...
  • Did you know the Kasbar (?) is now going to be a lap dancing club. The Litten Tree isn't going to be knocked down just yet, IF and I say IF, it goes through it will take 2 years anyway.
  • Why not try Harry's Bar at The Connaught Rooms (next to the arcade). No trainers upstairs, but that doesn't stop the dogs getting in - ha! ha! Seriously, older ladies, desperate divorcees and weary slappers abound. Not to be missed (or revisited).
  • Rutherfords is sinking into the sea & they play shite music, so don't go there unless i am djiing! You can find me play out @ the q-club now & then - my name is Geeza - i dj everyfriday with my other dj mate "dj blade" (nice name) in the green mango bar every friday 7-9 which is just below the q - go there and some free tickets into the club - the music is the best in worthing & a lot of people dis it, but it aint that bad. or you could try "desire" opposite the train station, best vebue in worthing & best sound system, but shite music being wasted on the speakers & regular police raids for people who have a remarkable resemblence to their obviously younger brothers. Good drinks promotions though! - ie. monday nights. 99p for a pint of fosters, or a shot of vodka ALL NIGHT. Sterns AKA The mansion house used to be the best place in worthing but shut down years ago, & if you know anything about your music you will know that John "oo" flemming started his dj career in the mansion house - wish they opened it up again - would be the best place by far. feel free to email me: praiseme@lordjesus.co.uk & i could tell you any more info
  • The Q club is where the doormen are freindly but don't mess around! The inside is chrome outlook and also so cool! But if you have drugs which the staff may have found, The doormen will nick ya! So do'nt be a fool
  • Rutherfords if cheesy dance and pulling is what you are looking for! Q club is more your true clubbers club, but if you find yourself out in the cold with absolutely knowhere else to go you might wanna try Area 51 where all the rejects from the other clubs end up!!
  • Q.
  • Occasions, Q-club, Desire,
  • Yes clubs in Worthing used to be good !! once !
  • The Carioca if it ever reopens should be Worthings only leftfield club this side of Brighton. Only wether it opens at all will be down to local residents Typical Worthing, good things never start in this here because people complain.
  • Rutherfords is the best nightclub by far so go down especially if you are a cute guy it is just like being in ibiza and q club is shite.
  • Slightly biased but Rutherfords has got to be the place to go. (If you Don't I might loose my Job!)
  • mmm Rutherfords...on the end of the pier.... nice and safe when drunk!
  • All awful unfortunately yoe get the impression that worthing has not had a decent club in years. Most people serious about clubbing go to brighton.
  • Sadly, the Factory is no more, but has been supposed to be moving to the old Carioca venue for the past nine months now. Unfortunately, the mere mention of the Carioca is enough to dredge up memories of being 13 and finding it exciting to go there, so the Factory won`t be quite as good as it used to be.
  • The Factory is now called the Q-Club and is the best club in the town now. Better than Rutherfords and definitely better than Illusions and Flappers.
  • Mansion House
  • Illusions
  • Flappers
  • The Factory is good on a Saturday night where the music ranges from Indie to Rock to Trance/Techno (resident DJ is Carlos). Thursdays and Fridays can also be good when specialist nights are on (eg occasional Sub-Aqua night with about 4 DJs playing Ambient/Techno/hard-house/trance etc).
  • There is also Rutherfords on the pier which is for 18+ but appears to be full of fifteen year olds.
  • Don't go, you'll regret it. They look quite good on the outside but they are absolute shite inside. Spend your money wisely, buy a train ticket and go somewhere else.
  • Factory isn't called the Factory anymore. Been re-built and taken over by someone else. Can't remember new name, but sounds crap. The Factory wasn't amazing, but it was the last place of dwindling self-expression, in what was, fo a while, a half-decent town. Many fond memories of getting slaughtered, necking drugs, meeting potential flings, laughing at the muppets and smoking too many fags.
