- cafe nero near the pier
- Gaia Cafe, Methven's Bookshop. Newly opened Bookshop cafe Summer '07. Nice relaxing atmosphere, all veggie, organic, Fairtrade and local produce. Community notice board to advertise events etc. Excellent coffee , lovely organic cakes, small good lunch menu. The people really care about what they're doing - great addition to this independent bookshop.
- costa
- Cafe Nero's, Macari's etc. Generally where old people congregrate in the hope of developing a safer future for themselves. But if it isnt safe for us young uns, how is it ever gonna be safe for you? In fact, its quite funny watching them as the end of the day approaches, fear creeping into their saggy old eyes as they contemplate the dangerous trek home.

- The one and only Cafe Continental in Warwick Street has seen eons of girl- and boy-friends pass through the hands of me and my chums. Still the best toasted sandwich in town (and how long has the woman with the straight dark hair been there without getting any older?).
- hmmm macaris are the BEST for any kind of food/non-alcoholic drink u want. nb their hot choccy is especially good!
- Cafe Central is new right next to the main post office top end of town, Barneys in Portland Road is popular too.
- Blue Bird.
- Again slightly biased, but BHS has got to be worth a visit!!!!! However I would recommend you try the Portland Cafe in Portland Road. Or for a cheap but nice sarnie try Love at First Bite.
