You can tell us more about Worthing.
Live Music Venues
- assembly hall very rarely, many pubs such as the rose and crown, the downlink and the grand vic occasionaly host local bands
- assembly hall, the dolphin pub, most pubs
- The Istanbul, seafront. Monthly Turkish night. Music by Semih and Egyptian dance with Katie Holland.
- I am trying to receive funding to open an electronica venue in Worthing town center. The idea is that the venue would be open a minimum of 5 nights a week, people, (no matter their age or qualifications) would be welcome to come and perform their music, however they will not be paid to do so. They are also welcome to sell a cd of their music and will keep all profits from sales. I would do my best to encourage well known electronica artists to come and perform, they would be paid. The venue would also provide computers to allow people to come in a mess around on music programs and it would sell electronica viynals and cd's. It won't sell alcohol, this would mean it will be more accessable to younger people. Opinions please...

- 'Filthy Little Habits' hosts live bands every fortnight at Liquid Lounge. Only the finest local and national acts grace the stage. Near enough the last place in town for live music of the non-pub rock variety. www.filthylittlehabits.cjb.net for details.
- the barn at field place
- WORTHING ASSEMBLY HALL
- The Waterfront pub has regular live music...plus a DJ that plays every friday, heavy metal plus some of that older stuff, zeppelin, maiden, etc...
- I saw Lamar at 3TO he was pants.
- Concorde 2 in Brighton, some pretty rad bands play there :D
- The best place (Litten Tree) has sadly been lost to luxury flats. Very few places to go now but the Waterfront springs to mind.
- Go to Brighton-Concorde 2 or Brighton Dome
- I think the assembly do night there. I have done a recently live performance in the worthing town hall. It was ffeaturing something. If an event is there, Try and get a spot.
- The Brunswick, Brunswick Rd. Worthing
Live Music EVERY Saturday - eg. Big Yellow Taxi, Raw Deal, Village Band, Flash Co.Perfect Soundrals, Dan Band etc.etc. free entry
- Roundabout is a new club launched at the end of the Worthing Fringe (July 25th, Barn Theatre, Field Place). Hosted by ex-Factory-DJ, turned artist-and-poet Dan Thompson (that's me) a night of edgy, slightly anarchic entertainment is guaranteed. More info at www.artistsandmakers.com - and any acts wanting to play get in touch.
- The Southdown pub. Band every saturday night. check www.friendsreuntied.co.uk (no it isnt a mispelling) for recent info
- Round the side @ Vintners Parrot -- live bands, benefits and occasional madness when people like Jez and Steve Allen take over for crazy bands (anything from punk to rock to industrial to 'britpop' wannabe's) interspersed by them vaguely pretending to dj. you'll know if you go to one of their nights! Inn on the Prom is now the Waterfront and has regular rock/metal nights with occasional live bands possibly also a hip-hop night on thursdays but that was going down hill
- What the Dickens Club at the Charles Dickens, Heene Road (tel pub: 01903 603791)
on the first Friday of the month for the best in local and further afield talent .. also organises 2-day Annual Blues and Folk Festival during July Fringe Festival
- Hmmm...worthing's a little small for one of those - but I heard that in the 60s and 70s that big bands like The Who, and the Stones played in the town hall.
- Try the Hare and Hound on a Tuesday night for a nice selection of jazz music.
- a couple of pubs try, but mostly rubbish
- Vinters Parrot. The Pavillion has bands, very rarely. All the rest have poor middle aged rock bands who destroy well-known tunes.
- Worthing was always a musical wasteland due to the greedy publicans not being prepared to pay bands anything at all. Subsequently they got what they deserved, can't-play-bands and Kareoke
- Worthing is bollox for music venues. Better off going a few miles out to Brighton.
- Whilst it still stands (?) the Litten Tree is the place to be!
- Craic bar is no more, sadly...
- The Litten Tree is the best place to go for live bands although the WaterFront (The Prom) has now got its music license back.
- there is a distinct lack of them in worthing...
- Jack shit!!!!!
- Bandstand.
- Not enough alternative music venues
- Craic Bar (Back of the Burlington hotel) Some very good live Irish Bands : Shenanigan, Big Yellow Taxi, Flash Company to name a few.
- Inn on the prom, The wine lodge (litten tree, crap name), Flappers, All mostly very cheezy, especially the morbid fascination with 80s rock at the Inn on the prom
- Try the Inn on the Prom
- Not much in the way of music venues but several pubs have local bands on (eg The Wine Lodge and Maggies bar). There's also live music at The Thieves Kitchen but the landlord's a bastard so maybe we don't want to recommend that!
- The Thieves Kitchen is now called the Vintner's Parrot (?!) and is famed because Mark E. Smith drank in there about 1 year ago, before going onstage at The Assembly Rooms and getting dragged offstage for being completely plastered and insensible (and tipping over his guitar) after about 3 songs.
