Does anyone in Brackley have any info on this fellow? He taught geography at Beachborough School and then opened his own school in Folkestone, Kent - Westbrook House - in 1947. Please visit us at www.oldwestbrookians.cjb.net and leave a message in our guestbook if you can help. Many thanks.

Is there a Brackley museum or historical society? I have a few photographs of steam-hauled trains in and around Brackley from the early 1960s that might be of interest (to use for free needless to say).

PUB IN BRACKLEY by Janet Kelsey (Member 124995) on 21-Oct-03
Hi, does anyone remember, or know someone who might remember SIDNEY G.SALTER and his wife, Emily, who ran a pub in Brackley or that area in the 1930s. He retired about 1933. I have a photo of Sid, Emily and my parents-in-law outside the pub, but no-one in the family could remember the name of the pub. My mother-in-law told me it was 'pub corner'. I could e-mail the pic privately if necessary. Please contact me on ji.kelsey@xtra.co.nz

if you send me a picture I may be able to help as I was born in Brackley in 1951 and my mum was born there in 1924 so it is possible we will recognise the pub. My personal email is webbrosie@gmail.com

In 69 we we were on our way to the Isle of Wight concert and I had some friends from New York come over to join us. They stayed with James and his wife. I can't recall her name. I had a friend that worked on the base. He was a local named >>more

I am trying to trace my mothers, mothers family - main surnames are Lathbury and Collett - I have quite a few names dating from the 1840-1870 and would like to hear from any desendants.

  • Re: Family Tree by antoinette (Member 202380) on 22-May-06
Hello, I am descendant of A Lathbury. My mother told me she came from Brackley arriving New Zealand in the late 1800's, the story is that she ran away with the "Clapper boy " for a new life in the colonies. I have a few stories if you are interested Antoinette

I am looking for information of a John Thomas Crabbe from freshwater, Isle of Wight. He was in the Royal Navy on board the HMS Shackleton, around 1959-62? He was friendly with a Bob Mitchell and Geoff Cleary. I believe he now resides in the Northants area. I hope someone remembers him and knows where to find him to pass this information. john.wright16@ntlworld.com
