Can you help I have come across in the 1841 census - household transcription. An address of WORMWOOD BANK Kingswinford. I would be most grateful to know where the above street or road was situated in the area of Kingswinford as to my knowledge there is no such place now.

Hi There I moved over to Kingswinford about 5 years ago. Up until quite recently I have never really bothered with any locals as I was quite content with my friends that I had from College (Dudley College) and work (Pensnett Trading Estate). I realised that life is short - that I want to get out there - enjoy it while I still can, and that I'd like to get to know a lot of others in my area, so that >>more

I have strong family history in Hinksford but emigrated in 68 to Australia when I was 6. I lived in the house next to power station and also my father Thomas James Chambers grew up there, his parents being James and Mary Adelaide Chambers with 4 other siblings. Also he was born at the old mill in Hinksford lane and lived in the farm house there for a little while (lane way in between the Old Bush pub and power house. >>more

I think I know which building(s) you are referring to. It's now up for sale and needs renovating. I was looking at buying it myself but it's too close to all the farm buildings. It's down a little lane running between Hinksford Farm and Hinksford House. I can send you a picture if you'd like?
