I am in Australia. Have an English born lady friend aged mid 60's - lives near me. She was adopted as a young child from an orphanage in Knaresborough. She & her younger brother were placed in the orphanage late 1930's and adopted by different families in 1942. Would be most appreciative if message board readers would ask around Knaresborough for information on orphanages which operated in that time period. (Maybe church run). Hving lived in Knaresborough for 18 years I have been witness to several serious accidents on Boroughbridge road, some fatal.Does anyone in our Council give a damn about speding traffic? Signs don't work, speed bumps do. Anyone agree?
