Fancy owning a football club? by Jack Pott (Member 212784) on 28-Nov-07
Fancy part owning an English football club? Yep, a real football club! Join a fans consortium and buy a club from the lower leagues and you will then be able to select the manager and the team. Copy and paste this address into your browser to find out the whole story..... www.thepeoplesclub.com

What a great notion. Its only £39 a share so I have taken a punt. I've signed up and with a few like minded people we could do it. Being able to buy and manage our own team and pick the team every week and watch our dreams come true sounds great to me.

I have no idea who you are - perhaps you would be kind enough to identify yourself. It is really sick to put comments such as this on here. Susan was a really nice girl and I don't even remember anything about her dad. I hope she is as disgusted with your comment as I am!

  • Re: Burgate School 1960-1964 by pam johnson (nee Horsburgh) (Member 203234) on 31-Mar-07
Well, I feel a lot better now that I have established that you make a habit of this sick sort of 'communication! Have just read comments you have sent to numerous others - no doubt you know none of them, just like you don't know me. You are disgusting you poor sad person. Get a life - we can do without people like you on this site.

Fordingbridge is a good place to live, low crime rate, easy access to many larger towns, right on the edge of the new forest. Fordingbridge Infant and Junior schools very good. They also feed into an excellent secondary school the Burgate School and six form. Check out their web sites. The Recreation ground has had a major revamp new skate park and plenty of children’s play equipment. Many clubs for youngsters to attend. All round pretty good place to live.

These days kids are into hip hop, graffiti, rock music skating. Pretty much anything creative really. My grandmother was a Bryant and her father was Ted Bryant and he had 21 brothers and sisters. Still have lots of family living in Fordingbridge. Also knew Nellie Lawes she was over 100 when she died, not sure if she is connected to the Lawes you are looking for.

  • Re: Bryant, Dismore, Lawes, Waterman by Donna Ivey (Member 146812) on 11-Aug-04
My grandmother, Ted Bryant's sister was the youngest of Absolam and Jane Bryants children. There were 19 in total - not 21. In fact they were in the Daily Telegraph for having the largest family in South East England (we have a copy of this). Jane and Absolam also received a telegram from the King congratulating them on having 7 sons in World War 1 - what was amazing is that all 7 came back. My grandmother only passed away 2 >>more

I am trying to trace my Bryant gggrandparents. My ggranddad was Edward A Bryant b c1863 d c1891 Fordingbridge whose wife was Ada Welch Bryant (she re-married on his death and had more children with Edward Lonnen the butcher) I'd also like to find her maiden name. My granddad was Harry Bryant who became company secretary at Neaves foods Fordingbridge when he lived at 'Greenbank'. I am rather interested in the Lonnen connection here, my father has asked me to do some tracing on the ' Lonnen ' surname, I think his great great grandfather was Edward Lonnen the butcher - perhaps ! But I would be interested to know if you know of any names of the children that he and Ada Welch Bryant had, I think that perhaps one was called Frederick Lonnen(my great great grandfather), any other connections would be helpful too ? >>more

  • Re: Bryant, Dismore, Lawes, Waterman by Phil Goater (Member 169687) on 29-May-06
Ada Welch Bryant/Lonnen was the daughter of Harry Curtis and his wife who was Caroline Welch. I am not aware of a Frederick Lonnen in her family but Edward Lonnen's Dad Edward had quite a few chidren. The IGI records a Frederick Lonnen born in Portsmouth to Henry Lonnen. Incidentally I need to amend the info. I gave a year ago. Edward Bryant was born in 1853 and I believe he could be the 'missing' son in the family of Henry >>more

I am the grandson of Nellie Lawes (nee Frampton)who passed away in 1982 aged 102! Her son, John Alfred was my father. He married Madeleine Ann Parker who was the granddaughter of Ted Bryant. I remember him from my youth because he was the sexton at Fordingbridge cemetary, well into his 80s! I'd be pleased to hear from any family members as I'm researching my family tree.

Hi My grandmothers maiden name was Hallett. Her father worked as a baker in Bournemouth. She relates a tale of her forebear being Major George Hallett who trained to be an officer at Sandhurst and rode his horse down the steps of Sandhurst College. This major george married what was referred to in the family as a "jail keepers daughter" who was really the daughter of the Governor of Dorchester prison. Major George was disinherited and his money placed in Chancery. >>more
