Eleanor Road (Hackney)

Hi,
I used to live in Eleanor Rd E8, at no 62. From 1945 - about 1964 could be a bit longer. Anyone remember the old turning. Used to go to Gayhurst Primary, then Hackney Free & Parochial.

Hi,
I used to live at 62 Eleanor Rd. Between 1944 - about 1964 might be a bit longer. Anyone out there who used to live in the old turning at that time. I remember some of the names. If you would like to get in touch. Went to Gayhurst Primary, then Hackney Free & Parochial, left school in 1962 to start work.
Hope to hear from you

Eleanor Road! I lived at No. 18 as a child from 1951/58 in 'prefabs'that were built on London Fields, presumably as temporary housing after the war.
I remember watching the steam trains going past wondering where they were going!
The Queen Eleanor pub was a regular haunt of my fathers where he played darts. I believe it's still there

    Hi Thomas,
Sorry can't help you with your question. I used to live in Navarino Mansion, Dalston Lane. I remember the "prefabs" on London Fields. I went to Sigdon Road school.

Have been looking at the TV news about the riots and Pembry Rd was mentioned. I remember the the double deck trolly buses (581) I think, went near there.
